DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS OR A MAN'S HAT!!!!!!

Prince has lots of hats and I keep putting the "give me" hats in boxes and storing them in the closets.

Each year he picks one hat that he will wear and after several weeks of wear and mowing, his hat becomes as dusty and dirty as if it had been left on a dirt road with high traffic.

Suffering from the same illness as Grandma Christian, I sometimes get hung up on cleaning things. I do not have the full disorder, Compulsive Cleaning but some days it sneaks up and whacks me in the head.

Last week, I had one of those days. Puppy hides out when I get the clean gene going full throttle. I looked at the dusty and dirty hat and knew I could fix it. I put it in a pail of hot water with Biz and let it soak for a few hours. Then I scrubbed the brim with a bush and it was as good as new. I hung it over the faucet in the bath to keep its shape and drip dry.

When Prince got home and played with Maggie, he went to wash his hands. I heard the cry of a hurt man "OH NO" OH NO". Being very concerned with his cry of distress, I ran to see what was the matter. He was looking at his dripping hat as if it had DIED.

I could not believe his reaction as I was so proud that it had come clean. I asked "Why are you so upset?" He proceeded to tell me that now it looked as if he had not done any work. Still mystified about his reaction, I proudly spoke of how it would not cause any rash from being so dirty.

He still had that "hurt puppy dog look" and all night long he would lament about how it looks as if he has not done any work.

The kitty justice is that you do not mess with a man's tools or TEXAS. I was aware of those facts but now I know you do not mess with a man's HAT either. I wonder if he will wear it this weekend.

Hi Lady Di ~~ You can't win with some people can you? I believe some people are like that about their coffee mugs. I remember my daughter cleaned one of her teacher's coffee
mug and was not popular for what she thought was a good deed. Thanks for your comments about the photos and family. Glad you could use a joke - do so at any time. Take care, Love,
Merle.

love the term "strange cattle" and you are correct as I really thought a clean hat would make him happy. It did me.

Where I worked for over 20 years, we had people who would never wash their cups and I was always watchful as to what dishes they brought to the party to eat. I religiously avoided their contribution. Also I kept score on those who would leave the bathroom without washing their hands. I guess I was too much like my Grandmother (clean freak)

Hi again Lady Di ~~ Thank you for the
nice comments. Glad you got to see the 3 photos, I put 4 on the night before including my fairy garden.
Will aim for a couple of flowers later I think. It seems we all shrinl a bit with age, so far I think my ear lobes and nose are OK. Just glad to be alive to enjoy my family and dear blogging friends.
Take care, Love, Merle.

I'm too much like you, Lady Di. I used to look at those dirty coffee cups and think that was so yucky. And not washing you hands - woooo wheee - cardinal sin with me.

I enjoyed your fairy garden. I have items such as rabbits, cranes, frogs, light house and a pagoda house with lion guard scattered throughout my flowers.

I told that same joke to the shop volunteers and we were all lol to your humor. Thanks

Your are correct not washing hands is a CARDINAL SIN. St. Peter should be on the lookout for them and announce them as the GERMS.
