MUSIC EVERY QUARTER HOUR
Back in the 70's, I got this clock and enjoyed the Westminster chimes for decades. Then I got heavy handed and wound it too tight.
After getting it repaired several years ago at the local clock shop, it ran for a good six months and then it was silenced again. This time I think it just wore out.
When the clock man came to work on the old Grandfather clock, I showed it to him and he said it needed a new mechanism and it was gonna cost more than I had originally paid for the clock. But my Mother loved it and each time it would chime, I could hear her sweet voice saying "I just love to hear that clock."
I had to go on the other side of Nashville last week to pick it up but have enjoyed each quarter hour immensely.
The Kitty Justice is every quarter hour I not only hear the chimes but my Mother's voice.

I think most of us are blessed more than we realize.
Peace be with you.

What a touching post. I can totally understand why you would want it repaired to have as a reminder of your Mom's voice.

Hi Lady Di ~~ How lovely to
have the clock making music again and reminding you of your Mother's voice.
Thank you so much for your comments, glad you liked the Train Story and the blonde looking up for the dead bird. Glad you liked the photos. The tomatos are Tommy Toe, Sweet
Grape tomato, Purtell cherry and one recommended by our garden guru Italian tomato.
Take care, Love, Merle.

The clock was not worth what I paid to get it fixed but the memories are PRICELESS.

Merle

Friends of mine have quite a few clocks, antiques mainly, dotted throughout their home. It's quite a symphony when they all go off. I think I'll stick to my wind chimes! ;)

I've one little clock...beside my bed, I've just realised. I don't even have a watch. I gave up wearing a watch years ago. I don't think I could get used to wearing one again now.

Ah ha, Lee you must be part Native American Indian as they never used clocks or watches.
