While Prince was at work last week in Murfreesboro, he looked out the window at the parking lot and discovered it had snowed. Not the white icy wet stuff but pink blossoms from the cherry trees.
It RAINED AND RAINED AND RAINED SOME MORE the end of last week. It was suppose to be sunny and partly cloudy on Saturday but the sun never made an appearance. Prince and I had one of our mini dates to TSC (Tractor Supply Company) and Co-op. We were in search for a battery for the John Deere mower.
Our first stop was co-op and I was looking for suet for the birds and he went to check out the batteries. They did not have a battery in stock to fit the mower. There was not a good selection of suet so I opted to wait until we got to TSC. We did get one of those natural looking mineral rocks for the deer herd.
We got to TSC and again we went our separate ways to locate our items of choice. Yikes, there was a note stating that all the Scott's suet had been recalled as it had mistakenly gotten fertilizer in it. Well my birds had already eaten all the suet I had on hand and I said a silent prayer that they did not eat any of the bad suet. I found another brand and got some peanut butter suet. Prince was in luck and he found the battery that would fit. Actually they had three of them. We bought some corn for the turkeys and deer and he found some chain oil he needed. TSC had sent me a ten percent coupon in the mail so we really got a good deal on everything we needed.
Now everyone took my ear muffs into account and I did not feel the need to tell them that I had had an ear ache. I just need to keep the wind out of my ear until it was well.
To be as green as Tennessee is at the moment it was still cool enough to have a fire on Saturday evening.
Sunday was a nice sunny day and I put on my yard clothes and headed out to clean out some flower beds. I got the one behind the back porch and the log cabin done. I also pulled up a whole wheel barrel of day lilies and Prince planted them for me along the drive way. He got up to the first beach tree.
The kitty justice is you NEVER KNOW what color snow you will have until you look out the window nor when you will need a fire to warm up the house.

Lady Di,

I love the blossoms in spring and yes, they do fall like snow. And that fire is delightful. I would love to have a fireplace, but no room for one. We are hoping to get a gas stove installed. I'm hoping for this fall, but just don't know. Both bathrooms need major renovations.

Enjoyed my visit, as always. We won't be working in our gardens for a while yet, though the first nice warm day I want to get mine cleaned out and prepared for planting.

Blessings,
Mary

The warmest you can get is backing up to a warm fire. Then you rush to your chair to savor the heat. I had not had a fireplace for a long time until Prince can into my life. We are still working on the kitchen with a list of "to do" and now it is time for the outside to get some TLC.
I would love to pull my plants outside and put some veggie and flowers in the ground but I must remember what Mother said "Wait till the ground warms up." Peace

Lady Di,

I remember the woodstove and how nice it was to stand next to it on a cold winter day and warm my body. I'd hold my hands over it to get them warm. That was heat, for sure and like nothing compared to what comes out of a furnace vent. Enjoy your fireplace.

Oh, and I have a little something for you on Tuesday's post. Drop over when you can.

Blessings for a great Wednesday.
Mary

It was chilly enough last night downstairs to build a fire to watch the National Basketball Championship. Our Memphis boys beat themselves. Congratulation to Kansas. Peace
