Last night the youngest nephew on Prince's side turned fourteen. I always remember the years twelve through fourteen as being to OLD for something and to YOUNG for others. These are such awkward years that all I want to do is hug him and let him know his old Aunt is there no matter if he is too old or too young.
Puppy's knee seems to be a little better but we have not heard from the MRI but we have heard from the Med Solutions. Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance has them to question any major procedure. To me this is an INSULT to any doctor. These brilliant professional who work at Med Solution have never seen the patience nor do they know the medical history but that are such geniuses that through the power of paper, etc they should make the final call if the procedure is necessary.
The doctors we have never put their patients through a procedure that is not necessary. Doctors try to do the best of their ability after YEARS AND YEARS of training to be second guessed by these wonderful beings behind a desk. I do not care how many plagues they have on the wall it is really none of their business how to take care of the patient. Let the doctors do their jobs and let the patients not have to put up with the hassle.
Lets change the subject so my BP will go down. The apples will soon be abundant so let make my favorite besides just eating them right off the tree.
APPLE CRISP
6 apples, peeled and sliced very thin
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
Place apple slices in a buttered 9X9 inch baking dish. Cover with white sugar;sprinkle with spices (I mix these together and then cover the apples)
Stir to coat the apples. Mix flour with butter, cut until it is a coarse texture. Add brown sugar and again cut until it is a coarse mixture. Spread brown sugar mixture evenly across top of the apples. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
The kitty justice is if you do not use REAL butter it will not be Southern.

Lady Di,

I finally got back online and am glad I did. Just in time for your delicious apple crisp recipe. It sounds delicious. I wonder if I could use sugar substitute to make this?

I do hope all goes well with Puppy's knees. I have him on my prayer list.

Take care, my friend and have a wonderful week.

Blessings,
Mary

I just copied the apple crisp how-to! I'm not much of a baker, but I do love apple crisp! And, I will use real butter!

This is the first time I have been to blogland. First of all, we finally got news about the MRI yesterday. He was advised by the Medical Asst. that nothing was torn but a screw seemed to be protruding. He starts therapy this coming Monday.

All I can say is THANKS BE TO GOD.

It will take some time to get back to where he was before the hole grabbed his foot. But he has perserverance and will stick with it.

Go ahead and use sugar substitutes but I still bake with real sugar as I am the only one who needs to decline a serving.

Peace and thanks for all your prayers.

Nick
Let me know how your apple crisp turns out. Peace
