Howdy. Yes, that is dust on the bottles. Probably years of dust. I found these in our basement along with a Scrapbook of Aunt Byrd's. She was Dr. Wilson wife. It is as if the ancestors tell me where these items are located as I do not go looking for them. Just like the letters of Grandma H, I was not looking for anything. I had taken some item to the basement to put away when through fate or whatever, I get a feeling I should check this out and sure enough it will be some historical item that needs to be saved from the basement.
I have not been hiding in the basement just the usually holidays visiting. Two visit were not traditional but may become one. First off, our family met big Sissy family at a nice restaurant and had a wonderful visit. Then, Thanksgiving day, we had the oldest cousin along with Prince's brothers family minus the nephew who lives in Colorado. Then on Friday we met my best and oldest friend and her husband for breakfast at Cracker Barrel. All in all it was a wonderful beginning to the Holidays.
The only downside was that first niece and big Sis got some flu and then Prince got the flu and Puppy had a stomach bug. So far Mimi and I have escaped the Malay.
The kitty justice is I will have to put on my Robert Frost attitude as I have miles to go before and after the New Year.

Lady Di,

Wow! Those pottery jugs are real treasures. They would look lovely on a shelf in your kitchen. When you have time you might want to explore the basement further. You never know what you will find.

Blessings for a great day.

Hi!
I saw your comment link on Mary's Writing Nook and I don't believe I've ever visited. I'm glad I stopped by.

Those are super finds...great treasures. I grew up in Colorado!! But now, a Texan via retirement in Arizona. LOL

[I read your profile, and I too LOVE Gone With the Wind]

Mmmmmmmm, and Cracker Barrel has to be one of my favorite restaurants.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend. Nice to 'meet you'.
Well, with all the family and friends you are visiting it looks like you could start a jug band. oompah oompah!! MB

Lady Di,

In answser to your comment on my post about the bargains at Wal*Mart. There were no crowds. Everyone was at the Santa Claus Parade. A perfect time to shop.

I also forgot to mention that we often choose Cracker Barrel for meals when we're traveling in the US. I wish they'd come to Canada.

Enjoy your day.
Blessings,
Mary

T think it is a real treasure hunt to go into the basement and find old items. Those jugs would look good in the log cabin when Gil moves and I fix it up for company.
Peace

Glad to see y'all. That whiskey would probably curl your beard. Someone had drained it already. Peace
