Looking out front. The Holly Tree had not gotten over the ice until here comes the snow. At least it was not very much.
The Pin Oak is stil a brown umbrella with fleeks of white on the brown leaves.

I am so glad Martha Stewart had the greenery idea on her show and that Brenda was watching. Thanks Brenda and Martha, as I have enjoyed the greenery.

Look at all the little feet prints in the snow.

A close up of the bird feeder in the photo below.

Looking down to the white barn. No animals are on the corn. Could they be in a thicket keeping warm.

The blue cold is in the air.

Check out the branches on the Holly Tree.

The first view you see when you are heading to the kitchen.

Not much snow compared to other parts of the nation.

Enlarge this photo to see the colors in the sky.

Today we have sunshine but the snow has not melted in places especially up on the hill. We are suppose to have a heat wave this weekend. High forties and might even make it into the fifties on Sunday. But alas, the first of the week we might see more like the photos above.
I thought I would give you a face to go with your prayers. The lady in white is my dear friend Cat. Thank y'all for putting her in your prayers.
The Kitty Justice is to enjoy the day no matter what the weather as this day will not be a do over.
I am just so proud as I did my first ever link. yeeha Thanks Mary for the instructions.

Normally the organ is not within sight when you come down the aisles of St. George's Episcopal Church. However, this past Sunday we went to see our organist give a solo concert.
Gerry Senechal began his musical career at the age of eight and has a very lengthy list of his achievements. Which are too numerous for me to mention. We are very fortunate to have him at the organ at St. George's. The concert was fabulous and if you would care to listen to it, please go to and click on live video.

It started freezing rain early and was already things white.
The holly tree out front wrapped in a coat of ice made a slimming effect in the fog.

The pin oak out front never looses it's leaves until new ones appear but for some reason it was not as droopy as the holly.

The back porch was a night mare of ice so I opened the kitchen door and took photos of the ice hanging from one of the feeders. Note the all the birds took off when I opened the door.

I did manage to capture one of the feeder and the blur is one frighten by the green furry blob in the doorway.

Ah Ha I finally thought of going down on the bottom porch and was protected from the freezing rain and I could safely walk upon it.

It was so foggy you could not see the white barn. Note those dots in the middle are a flock of turkeys. This is the male flock as the female flock is much larger.

Ice on the Turks Cap bush.

Forgot to take in the candle holder but the dragonfly makes a neat design.

This birdhouse is located at the end of the porch on the right side.

In the middle of the bottom porch is my large wind chimes and with the wind we have had, they have played some magical tunes. The icy vine is my purple clematis.

At the left end of the bottom porch a poor bush is touching the ground and you can barely see the garden fence. The tree in the background to the right is a Pear Tree. I turned to my right and took the following photo. Check out the icicle hanging from the top porch.

The netting that guards my produce looks like a sheet of plastic.
The Kitty Justice is by mid day it had melted and it was only a pretty memory.
Today so far we only have a dusting of snow.

I just received this e mail from my pal Pammie Pooh and I wanted to share it with Y'all.

A poem about our Girlfriends

Someone will always be prettier.

Someone will always be smarter.

Some of their houses will be bigger.

Some will drive a better car.

Their children will do better in school.

And their husband will fix more things around the house.

So let it go, and love you and your circumstances.

The prettiest woman in the world can have Hell in her heart.

The most highly favored woman on your job may be unable to have children.

The richest woman you know, she's got the car, the house, the clothes--might be lonely.

And the Word says "If I have not Love, I am nothing."So, again, LOVE YOU.

LOVE who you are.

Look in the mirror in the morning and smile and say,

"I am too Blessed to be Stressed and too Anointed, to be Disappointed!"

"Winners make things happen----Losers let things happen."

Be "BLESSED" Ladies and pass this on to encourage another woman.

"To the world you might be one person, to me you are SPECIAL!

Both of the above awards were given by Merle at She is one of my oldest blogging friends and I leave her blog to read last each day. Why? She makes me cry, laugh and smile, but mainly I always walk away from the computer with a smile on my face and a joke to tell and make others laugh. Thank you Merle for the awards but most of all for your friendship and all those jokes and stories you provide us out here in cyber land.
The first award Merle told all of us to take it freely and the second came with rules.

The first three photo were sent to me by our neighbor, Brenda. She feeds the little bluebirds meal worms. We do not feed them but almost every afternoon, if I put out fresh water, they come over for a bath.
The last photo is of Mt. Olivet which is where most of our ancestors are buried. I put this photo own the blog to go with what happen Sunday.
As Prince and I rushed to Church last Sunday, we saw near Warner Park a BMW had gone off the road going into town. Prince said he had seen lots of cars at the same spot as a result of ice on the road or them going to fast. We went own to Church and Father Tim Jones, had a sermon on "listening to God".
Prince and I visited with some of the members and then we headed home as Mimi would probably be ready for breakfast.
On the way home, I saw a blue light ahead and mentioned to Prince "they got them one" thinking it was a speeder. Getting closer we saw it was Channel 4 News van that the policeman was behind and up ahead the train which runs along the highway had stopped. Then the next thing we saw were 3 police cars with blue lights. Looking over at the tracks, I saw something I never wish to see again, a body bag. It was right across the road from the BMW. Prince said he thought it had something to do with the car and probably the train had hit someone.
As the week went on we found out that not the train we had seen but one that had come before it had hit the man. Later his name was given along with his age. He was only 40. Then his obituary was in the paper and he had a wife and children. My heart went out to them.
We can all try to figure out what happen but only he and God know for sure.
At 59 that was the very first body bag I had ever seen. The kitty justice is that may this be the last.

Here is something yummy to make.
Fruit Butter
1 stick of butter
2 pkgs. of cream cheese
2 TBS Grand Marnier liqueur
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 ten oz. jar Preserves
Soften the butter and cream cheese. Put in a food processor the soften items and mix well. Add sugar and Liqueur and mix well. Be sure to scrap down the sides after you mix it. Add preserves and pulse to blend.
I prefer peach or apricot preserves and it is heaven on English muffins. You can use your favorite preserves and eat it however you wish.
This is something easy to make but really good. It makes a great gift to friends, teachers and family.
The kitty justice is if you are a diabetic, you can use sugar free preserves and splenda instead of sugar.

Yesterday when I awoke the temperature on the hill was 1 degree. As I went about my day, I would check the gage. At noon it was 19 degrees then at 3pm it was 17 degrees.
The first of the week Pammie Pooh wanted to know when we could go out to celebrate me turning 59. The best time was last night. It was so cold for us southern that it hurt to go outside. We three couples met at "Outback" downtown. It was kind of a center point for each of us.
I usually will pick that restaurant because they have huge coconut shrimp for appetizers. Sometimes I get them and a salad and that a meal.
Anyway, we got there first and threw our hat into the ring. As we were waiting one of the firemen, Woody and his wife Carolyn waved at us from across the room. We had not seen them in a long time so we reminisced on our wonderful trips to Alaska and Hawaii. That was their last big trips and our also. Then Carol, aka Mz Bubbles and her hubby, David arrived. We introduced them to the fireman and his wife. Then Pam, aka Pammie Pooh and her hubby, Rick arrived. Just then our pager went off and we were taken to a contortionist booth. The booth was made for wee people and neither of us are wee. David was the smart one and had them bring him a chair so he could sit at the end of the booth. Prince and Rick schooched in and then I slid into the far corner of the other side. Followed by Pammie and then Mz. Bubbles. Before we could order our drinks, Bubbles was already making conversation and getting to know our waiter. He was a Senior at Belmont College.
The meal was fantastic and the fellowship was so much fun. Pammie was telling us that their neighbors Bull Mastiff had died and she thought they should have put him in the freezer until the ground thawed out. I had a flash of a Lucy and Ethel skit and laughed so hard I thought I would cry.
At the end of the meal, even with boots on all our feet were frozen. I do believe they had a draft coming in at our feet. As we all walked out on our frozen digits we laughed and said how much fun we had had.
The above photo has the bag my cute "Domestic Diva" apron was in from Bubbles and the garnishing Kit was from Pammie. David gave me a CD he had made of the show and I cannot wait to watch it.
The kitty justice is you cannot beat a close encounter (the tight booth) with good friends on a "COLD EVENING."

WSM clear Channel 650. That is how the announcer usually come on the hour. News, weather and traffic reports are made each hour and then the music plays.
I would think y'all might have heard The Grand Ole Opry from this long standing beckon to the world.
Prince took this photo after we had hung my paintings on January 2Nd.
The kitty justice is y'all now know where the entertaining comes from to your house.

The flowers that Carol and David had for me at my show.

The book I had on the table with the above flowers at my show.
Sorry the photos are not so good of the book but I did not have time to do repeats. It is shiny so the glare did not help me take the photos.
As you can see Prince's photo of the sunrise which I have on the sidebar of my blog, made the back cover. Also, he had three other photos in the book.
As for Kitty, I had six photos and one poem in the book. If you recall in a previous post, I mentioned that I had submitted photos and was notified that some would be used, however, we did not know which or how many photos would be used as I had sent in several.
Our payment was two copies each for the use of our material. Prince kept saying "wonder which ones they used." When Puppy went by and picked up our copies at the Westview, we could not wait to see which of our photos had been used.
Can you imagine how we felt when we saw our photos and my poem? We were both truly humbled by the number used.
If anyone would like to order a copy which is offered in soft and hardback, please go to
Again, I was not told to say this nor will I get anything but the enjoyment that you would like a copy.
The kitty justice is to use part of Minnie's phrase "I am just so proud."(To have my work included in this book but most of all that Prince's photos were featured.)

These are what I found by my place mat this morning.
So far this is my stash and cards

Linda gave me a whole basket full of Avon products.

Cannot wait to wear those pins on my hats. Check out the three tiny teapots.

A couple of small treasures from Mimi.

Mimi also gave me the English tea set and Prince gave me the assortment of tea and a neat insulated glass mug to put the hot tea in but it will keep my paws cool.

Prince also gave me the large trevis glass with a snarling Smokey on it. Now I can drink lots of water with fewer refills.

The Kitty statue are from Prince and Puppy. The one on the left shows my love of shoes and the other one shows how I like to relax to talk on the phone.
The last of the fifties are fleeing,
I am happy at the command center I can tinkle,
and my hair is still on my head and my teeth twinkle.
I am upright and sassy to boot,
And my achievements I feel free to toot.
To be happy with my age and not a shy flower
Makes me a Kitty with a minimum power.
It has been an enjoyable day
even at 50 plus 9 I became today.
The Kitty Justice is next year I will be ready for all those SENIOR DISCOUNTS.
