Happy Birthday Mother. Her name Vinia (pronounced VI-NA) was forever being mispronounced and misspelled. My big sis was named after Mother and has the very same problems.
Dad and lots of folks called her Vi-nee.
Mother was the first born to Pa and Grandma Christian. She was a tom boy growing up in Smith County just like I was. If asked about religion, she would say she believed in God but never would you hear her say she was a christian. She lived and acted as one and people knew that she was a really good person. The first thing she would ask anyone when they arrived at her home was "Have you eaten?" or could she get you something to drink. By her actions and faith, I learned a lot and try to incorporate them into my life.
Thank you, Mother.
The kitty justice if your Mother is still alive, please call or visit her and if not, stop and have one good memory of her before you head along your way.
Peace to Y'all.

Lady Di,

A beautiful photo and tribute to your mother. Mom is 81 and I talk to her everyday. We only have one set of parents and we should cherish them. When they are gone, we miss them. I often think of Dad and he has been gone 27 years. No one can replace them or even come close.

Thank you for sharing you lovely mother with us. I'm sure you miss her.

Have a great day. I hope you're having some good weather. Today is sunny, the plumbers are here and I'm hoping to finally get all this plumbing mess solved.

Blessings,
Mary

Nice tribute to your mom here. My mom left us several years ago followed shortly by my dad. But they both remain in our hearts! ~ jb///
What a beautiful picture of your Mother. Even though she is all dressed up, I can see the tomboy sparkling in those eyes. My Mother just turned 93 and I am travelling on that ol ferryboat to see her tomorrow. She thinks it is time to make the move to a retirement home but has to sell her house first. No market! She is a sweetheart. Thank you for reminding me to call her. MB

My mother is gone but her name was similar to your mother's name.

Mom's name was "Vivia" and she pronounced it "VI-VAH" and considering she was born in a log cabin in the mountains of West Virginia, no doubt they named her after somebody they knew. But I have never been able to find any relatives with that name.

You and Mary are both fortunate to still have your Mothers. If mine were here and on that island, I too would brave that ole boat to see her. I hope you work out the retirement home for her. Peace

How funny that we had Moms with such unusal names. Mine was named after an Aunt. Peace
