Oaksland was one of the homes during the Civil War. You can tour the house but we thought we would do that another time. I was just taking photos on our Saturday date to Murfreesboro.
This is the sign out front of Oaksland. The next 4 photos are close up so you can read the history without me having to repeat it, nor will you have to enlarge this sign to read the story.

The city of Murfreesboro was the place of the Stones River Battle. The city was like a game of give and take. During the war you had to check to see who was in charge, Union or Confederate. Lots of folks have a misguided idea of what the Great Conflict was about. If you study history, you know it was about "State Rights". It was the very worse thing to happen to our Nation.
The kitty justice is to be Proud of your history, no matter which side you were on and most likely you had family on either side.

Glad to see you back. I have always liked history so I am glad it peaked your interest. It was a very sad time for folks in the USA. Peace
Beautiful home. Always a tragic story about our States Rights. I suppose we could rationalize and say it shaped our nation, but why does death and dying have to be the shapers.
Good info. MB
