I have hung all the Calender Girls throughout the house. I put out an Angel and Candle rings yesterday getting ready for Christmas.
The first thing I did was take the autumn arrangement off the dining room table and put a Madonna with flowers and added red candle rings for the center piece.
These little figures are the only items except candle rings that I have put on the side board.
These are the candle rings around the candles in the back of the living room.
Since I am the one and only one who decorates the house and outside, I thought I would do a little less this year. I know when I get started I might get carried away but as of this moment it will not be decorated as much as usual. REASON- I am also the one and only one who will put it away until next year. Whew.
Thanksgiving came and went in a flurry of turkey feathers. Or at least it seems that way. We had ten around our table this year and would have more but my SIL was checking on her Mother in Alabama who had been taken to the hospital. She is now out of the hospital but still having some problems. It would be nice if all of yawl would put Betty in your prayers.
I still had blooming geraniums on the porch on Thanksgiving day as the weather had been unusually warm. Then the bottom dropped out that evening and we got below freezing the next few nights. It was rather pleasant yesterday at 59 so Prince, Maggie and I took a stroll down to the white barn.
I enjoy football but after back to back to back ball games, I began to get confused and I really get lost when Prince would flip from one game to another. I really think the best play was there was 6 seconds on the clock before half time and Arkansas threw a touchdown. So if the boys of fall think they do not have enough time, they should remember it only takes six seconds. Also, we sat by the fire downstairs and when I get still and warm, yep, I fall asleep.
The kitty justice is that your Thanksgiving holiday was one without kat fuzzies.

Holiday after holiday. that's a bit hard on people. But it looks as if you're a very organized lady who knows exactly what and when to do the neccessary things.

I'm glad you've decided to "do a little less this year". Save your energies!

I wish your SIL's mother a quick recovery!

Lady Di,

Your Christmas decorations are beautiful. I do much less now than I did when the grandsons were little.

Glad you had a lovely Thanksgiving. Have Betty on my prayer list.

Blessings,
Mary

Prince has a very busy month with a our anniversary, Christmas and then my burpday. I told him Mz Merlot #5 could be for all three this year.
I put up wreaths on our front door and the cabin and stopped myself from any extra outside decorating. Thanks for your wishes for Betty. Peace

Thanks but as I get older and really no little ones around, it seems redundant to over decorate. I must put out the stuffed animals around the fireplace in the living room as Sam Cat and I have a game where he steals one of them (he picks a different one each year) and he will carry it into Mimi's bedroom at night. Then the next morning I retrive it and put it back by the fireplace. It is a game we play. Thanks for putting Betty on your prayer list. Peace
I love your Calendar Girls. I bet they brighten up the walls. I like the Madonna in the 2nd picture. Different.
I haven't been in the Christmas Spirit the past two years (Dave died November 2007) but now I am back and I think i will decorate a little more this year.--well naybe. haha!!
I am glad you all had a nice Turkey day, we did too. I am sending good vibes your SIL's way. MB
Hi Lady Di, Im so glad you like my winter pictures here in the UK. It has got much worse in the last 24 hours, it looks like we might be snowed in if it continues snowing.

Your Christmas decorations look lovely. You are so organised.

Im sorry to read about your SIL's mother. I hope Betty is feeling better soon X

I am so glad the Spirit of Christmas has returned to you. Thanks for the compliment on my girls, they took three years to paint an another 2 years to get ready for my show in Jan 2009. Betty will appreciate any good vibes sent her way. Peace

We do not get much snow here in the south so I truly enjoyed those photos. Snowed in does not last very long here and I hope not there either. Thanks for the thoughts going Betty's way. Peace
