It was less than twelve inches when we picked it up from Cousin Susan along with another one the same size. Prince planted this one in front of the house. The other one he put across the drive way near the horse block. Unfortunately, one of nephew's friend ran that one over. Prince usually does not get upset but that time he was very annoyed.
Cousin Susan owned Glen Leven and had a HUGE ginkgo tree in her yard. Prince always admired it so one year she dug up two little saplings for him. She always had a soft spot for Prince. He was prouder than a dog off his chain when she gave him those two tiny trees.
I love the shape of the individual leaves. I think the fairies must use them to fan themselves during the warm weather.
The kitty justice did the leaf shape come first or the butterfly?

Beautiful yellow leaf and the shape is quite unusual. Looks like fairy or butterfly wings.
That is a lot to ponder, which came first. Think it is best just to enjoy and it is indeed pretty.
I love ginkgo trees too. I love the golden bounty on the ground when the leaves fall.
At Vantage in Eastern Washington there is a huge area of petrified trees mostly Ginkgo. I magin--one of the oldest trees ever. MB

Doesn't matter as long as we enjoy each's beauty. Peace

I know what you mean. When Cousin was alive, I would love to stand under that huge ginkgo and everything was golden, the leaves would litter the ground and when you looked up all you could see was a golden umbrella of leaves. One of my fondest memory of Glen Leven. Peace

Dear Dianne ~~Love the Gingko leaves
and haven't seen them before.
Thank you so much for the lovely Thanksgiving card. That was nice of you. I hope your Thanksgiving is a
happy day. We all have so much to be thankful for, including our service-
men and women who fight for freedom.
Glad you liked my flowers, and I was relieved with the scan results. Glad
you liked the poem "Anyway" as I did.
Take good care, my friend,Love Merle.
