How did the chicken cross the road?
The kitty justice is we might should PONDER that one too on this last day of the year.

The kitty justice is I thought frogs liked to get rained on. Maybe it is for the sun. What could be worse a green frog getting a sun tan.

Coils for the centers of these sunflowers.
The kitty justice is they do not need water nor will they wilt.

No horses here to hold.
The kitty justice is most all houses had a lawn jockey when horses were the main transportation.

Monday, December 26, 2011

My Grandpa had some goats and I always think of him even if it is a tin goat.
The kitty justice is it is funny how you attach memories to certain animals.

A side view of our tree and you can see ornaments better.
A front view of the tree.
The kitty justice is me paws need to get to wrapping presents to go under the tree. Oh cat fuzzy I may just use sacks this year.

Puppy took these photos of our neighbors house with their Christmas lights.
This is a closer view of the dogwood tree with the white lights.
The kitty justice is that their lights make the hill very festive.

The Castle was built before Interstate 840. It is where every weekend in May the Renaissance Festival is held.
A closer view.
The kitty justice is that you too can dress up and go back in time if you visit in May.

The big one in the back is the one I brought home from Martins. The small one was brought to Mimi by the Ladies from the Church.
I also found this lovely begonia at Martins. It looks rather like Christmas too.
Can you believe all the blooms on this Christmas Cactus? Yes, this was at Martins too.
The kitty justice is I got some lovely plants to add cheer to the house.

Martin's in Murfreesboro. We were a little late as they usually have them hanging from the ceiling too.
 Close of each color.
The kitty justice is which one came home with me????

OOPS!!!!!!!! Above is my Miss October of My Calendar Girls series. It was my understanding that I was painting Geisha girls.
However, I purchased a booth at the Market fest at our local Y and was told by not one but two ladies that some of my girls are Chinese and not Japanese, as I had thought for YEARS.
The first oriental lady told me that Miss March, Miss May and Miss February were not Japanese. She did not show the polite Japanese side that I much appreciate about their culture. She walked away from my booth in a HUFF saying "I am Japanese, and I know Japanese." THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I EVER HAD EVEN THOUGHT OF SOME OF MY LADIES AS ANYTHING BUT JAPANESE. First of all, I would never insult the Japanese in any form as I consider them the world's most polite society. Just look how they reacted to the great earthquake disaster.
The second oriental lady was much younger than the first and she explained to me why she considered Miss October and Miss September to be Chinese instead of Japanese. It was their clothes. Both indicated Miss March was Chinese because of her hair. Puppy who was keeping me company at the booth said I could redo the months in question. Duh, it took me THREE years to paint all of these ladies and the cultures in question will have to forgive my knowledge and limitations. I think all my Calendar Girls are beautiful ladies no matter what nationality they happen to be.
The kitty justice is that both oriental ladies only agreed on Miss March. So again I shall act like Rick Perry "OOPS"

This post was inspired by Patty's comments about the black panther. Our inside cat, Sam (photo on the side bar) loves to take items from the living room hearth. One Christmas he would take the beanie baby of Scooby from the living room each night. He takes them back to Mimi's bedroom and sometimes hides them under the bed but most of the time he just leaves them in the middle of her floor. After he got tired of Scooby, the next Christmas, he was stealing the Christmas bunny but his favorite of all is the doll box. The last several Christmas, we find the doll box in different places and he has just about taken the curl out of her hair. It is a Christmas game we play.
The Kitty Justice is this year he has not bother any of the toys, I guess he wants me to put out something New.  Silly Cat.

The Cedar Wax Wings and Robins did not get all the Holly berries. Prince got a new saw and he trimmed the Holly trees (four of them) and we have lots of branches to haul off today.
A couple of my Santas that I used to decorate with this year. How is that for the moon and star?
This is a wooden Santa and most all my Santa were given to me by Aunt Karen. Each year they go out and we think of her. The Snowman was given to me by my big Sis last year , the little cups came out of my stocking one year and the box was given to me by my good friend Kay.
The Kitty Justice is that I have lot of items to decorate with but the wonderful thoughts I have of those who gave them to me is the best.
Second Kitty Justice is maybe we will have lots of little Holly trees spring up from the branches we put in certain areas.

My Mother's Christmas spirit is showing up in Puppy this year as he has gone all out in lighting up the hill.
All the photos were taken by him of the lights. This one shows the entire front of the house.
This is the large cedar tree by the basketball goal. It has grown quite a lot. Thanks to Mr. Frank for planting it for us many years ago.
A closer look at the the box bushes and dear out front.
The white lights in the background are some of our neighbors light. The cedar is in the background and four box bushes at the corner of the house.
This was taken of his cabin before he finished putting lights on the other box wood on the left side. It looks just like the one shown.
The kitty justice is we need to decorate our Christmas Trees and with the cut trees in the house, it smells a lot like Christmas.

Merry Christmas from our house to yours.
 Outside by the front door.
Even the old seeder has a wreath and bow.
These old machines decorate outside by the Log Cabin.
The Kitty Justice is I have my part of the outside decorating done.

My SIL, Bep and Cousin Bill visiting on Thanksgiving day before the meal was served. Cousin Bill usually says "the dirty dishes are MINE". That is the best thing he can do for the cook and he always cleans up the dishes at any dinner he attends. Also, if I need ANY HELP I can always count on him. Bep is a retired school teacher and has visited several weeks at a time since she retired. I more or less just hand everything over to her to do when she walks into the house. That gives me some well deserved time for WHATEVER I choose to do even if it is nothing at all.
Bep's youngest Louie always tells us to give him a job and this time, it was to fix the curtains. While we were all visiting he was up on a ladder trying his darnest to complete the task. Alas, we need a new curtain rod. The kitty justice is it was a beautiful sunny day for Thanksgiving.

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

Prince spent Thanksgiving knee deep in leaves. He loves the goat which is hidden by the leaves. Puppy took the back pack blower and helped him herd the leaves down the hill.
I spent the days in the kitchen and this photo was a whole week after the horrible hair cut. Even though we were busy, it was a very enjoyable Thanksgiving.
The kitty justice is the Blessing we enjoy.

All the girls up front had on their Santa hats.
Caught without her hat.
Santa and Prince went to college together
The kitty justice is that Santa has has the real beard and blue eyes.

Often Prince and I go on a short date to TSC. Black Friday had great weather and some good deals.
This is a close up of their door. Cute.
This is one of my favorite stops in the store. The animals are so detail and I enjoy playing with them.
I have hit a key and now we are typing in a center format. Something on the left side of the key board.
Thanksgiving meals cooked and dishes put away, company has left and most of Christmas decorations are up. The weather was really nice and then the wind blew. Next it rained and now we are having rather normal November weather temperature. The hill is fogged in this morning and in places they say a half inch of the white stuff might fall. The kitty justice is we hope to escape that fate.

Wednesday, November 16, 2011         Uncle Roy is dancing in Heaven now. He is the gentleman in the white apron in the video (Marty Stuart Hillybilly Rock). He owned and ran R& R Barbecue Restaurant for years on North First Street.
The kitty justice this was a view of him as the happy and wonderful Uncle. R.I.P. dear one

In 1963, Grandma and Pa where relaxing in the yard at Aunt Carolyn's home.
This is the only photo that I have of all four of Grandma and Pa's children. From left to right, My Mother (Vinia), Dorothy, Roy and Carolyn. They posed by their age. The last one of that generation died 11-11-11. May Uncle Roy rest in Peace.
From our kitchen to yours, may y'all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Be sure to count your Blessings.
In two weeks. After Thanksgiving weekend.
The kitty justice is to take care until I return. Peace be with you and yours.
