When Prince and I  went to the Farmers Market downtown, I found this Fuchsia plant with the notation that it attached humming birds. So I put it outside the kitchen door awaiting the discovery of the hummingbirds which visit our upper porch.
Beside the Fuchsia plant sits the only remaining existence of the brain head cactus that a friend gave me from her huge plant. I cared for it the way she advised but after 2 winters, the third summer I brought the large part outside, it gave up the ghost. My SIL brought me the Box wood basil from Ms. and after I feed it, it has taken on a happier life.
These petunias sit on the right side and another multiple basket sits of the left of the bench and I love to sit near them in the morning drinking in their aroma as I sip my coffee.
My porch pots would not be complete without the usual geraniums. I have only 3 pots of them this year. I also love their fragrance.
I have 3 pots of this Brazilian Plant and think it adds to the corner near the steps.
The kitty justice is that I have shown you some of my plants on the porch now it is your turn.
Here are 3 Instructions for today for the little book by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

The round flower bed out front has perennials as I have given up on annuals in the yard.
Closer look at the Balloon Flowers and the next photo a real close up.
I just love the color of these flowers and cannot wait until the purple ball pops open to show the glorious blooms.
The kitty justice is there is something about purple flowers that makes me feel like smiling.
BTW Do any of you have any suggestions of other perennials to plant?

Alyssa and Puppy birthdays are this month. She is now in Europe so happy belated burpday to Alyssa. Puppy burpday is today. This was taken at  the reception his God Fathers wedding and Puppy was a ring bearer.
Easter 1989 as he stood on the seat of his Massey Ferguson tractor holding the bunny that was left with his basket from the Easter Bunny.
Puppy with Grand Dot. She loved to play with all the little children and he enjoyed being around her as she was so entertaining to small children.
He still loves to fish but mainly with his God Father on the Caney Fork River.
Graduation Day at Lipscomb University.
The Kitty Justice is for Puppy to continue to have Happy Birthdays.

Well this is how I felt yesterday after I chose a new header and template. I lost all the past post on the sidebar and when I recovered them, all the followers were missing. I still cannot see on the post comments unless I hover over the bottom of the post and only then can I see that I have comments.
Then last evening when I tried to respond to the 2 bloggers who had left comments, my comments  appeared at the top of the post on the blog and finally I was able to delete them from the blog post and make a comment in the comments page. Yikes.
I also picked the new editor  which has thrown me for a loop this morning when I tried to post.
I found if I label the post before I entered text it would not show up.
The photo above was taken the same morning as the header, 6-23-2011. I watched the sun rise and this photo is after the one taken as the header. After the fog lifted it was another hot and humid day on the hill.
The kitty justice is for all my blogging pals to hang in there with me until I can master this new template and editor.

This is Prince's best friend, Mr. David, holding their little girl, Bridgett. When their boy, Spencer went to doggy Heaven, they thought they would be dog less for a time but God had other plans. This little girl needed a good forever home and Mr. David and Mz. Bubbles have such big hearts that the little girl captured them with one lick.
The Kitty Justice is Bridgett is now a beloved and spoiled pet.

Thomas Jefferson was a smart man of his time and was a wise man before his time. The following are quotes from him:

When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe...

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

My reading of history convinces me that most BAD government results from TOO much government.

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

To compel a man to subsidize with taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.

In 1802 Thomas Jefferson said "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and the corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property-until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

The kitty justice is he was CORRECT more than two hundred years ago.

This is an e-mail I got from my best friend, The Pope.

Here is the little four and half inch by six inch book that I have been quoting by H. Jackson Brown, Jr. I admire Mr. Brown as he gave the type written pages to his son, Adam when he moved off to college, which has now become a book.
In his introduction he states "You may not agree with all the entries, and from your own life experience, I'm sure you could add hundreds more. Obviously, some are more important than others, but all have added a degree of joy, meaning and efficiency to my life."
The three instructions I will share today are:
19.Buy great books even if you never read them.
20. Be forgiving of yourself and others.
21. Wear polished shoes.
The kitty justice is Mr. Brown gave his son and us good instructions.
BTW If you have a child heading out into the world buy him or her the book.
PS I do not know Mr. Brown nor am I getting anything for this suggestion.
I just think these are good rules to pass along to our youth.

Looking out the windows near the front door. It rained a little over thirty minutes yesterday but enough to water the plants and lawn. I still had to get out this morning early and water the plants which are under the eves. I pulled a few weeds and planted the zinnia seeds. Better late than never.
Well Kitty came in looking like a field hand. I was soaking wet and dirty. If we do not get more rain this week, I will have to get out really early in the mornings before the staggering heat and humidity to water plants.
The kitty justice is to be thankful for what little rain we got as others are not getting any.

Since I forgot to post the instructions on Sunday, I will post six of them today.
These are from Life's Little Instruction Book by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

13. Learn to make great chili.
14. Plant flowers every spring.
15. Own a great stereo system.
16.Be the first to say "Hello".
17. Live beneath your means.
18. Drive inexpensive cars, but own the best house you can afford.

As I was enjoying my coffee on the porch this morning, I was intrigued by the changing sky. This is looking east.
As soon as I snapped the first photo, I looked left and took this one of the west.
The clouds were moving in from the west.
I thought this rather cool and if you click on it to enlarge it you will see God looking through a mask on the left side of the photo. (My imagination at large)
Then the rain came for about thirty minutes and the far away hills were not visible.
The kitty justice is where did you take your morning coffee as I was entertained by Mother Nature.
BTW Happy Father's Day to all yawl fathers out there. Father Kirby is missed today and it is hard to believe he has been gone six years.

At Silver Point there is a Church of Christ church with a tower behind it and and I wish I had gotten it at the right time where the tower is behind the steeple. But when you are speeding along the highway any photo is a good one.
The kitty justice is when they pray they have a true communication tower.

Here are today's instructions from Life's Little Instruction Book by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

10. Learn to play a musical instrument.
11. Sing in the shower.
12. Use the good silver.

This is a picture of the fifth bridge you have to cross coming home from the lake of the Caney Fork River. On Interstate forty you have to cross it five times going and coming from the lake. When we went up to the lake they were generating at the Center Hill Dam so the water was high but on the way home they were not.
The kitty justice is I always love to look at the river from each bridge.

Today's instructions from Life's Little Instruction Book by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

7. Look people in the eye.
8. Say "thank you" a lot.
9. Say "please" a lot.

Friday, June 10, 2011

Well it has been 14 days straight that we have been in the nineties. Some rain would feel nice about now. I would go out with my umbrella and do a Gene Kelley imitation .
The kitty justice if we continue with this heat we will all be a fish out of water.

Today's quotes from Life's Little Instruction book by H. Jackson Brown Jr.

4. Remember other people's birthdays.
5. Over tip breakfast waitresses.
6 Have a firm handshake.

Thursday, June 09, 2011

Before we got on the Interstate 40 heading home from the lake, we stopped at a gas station in Silver Point. Prince got out to pump gas and a Duster Plum Crazy pulled in on the other side of the pumps. Prince asked if the Valley drag strip was still going and the gentleman said it was. The Valley drag strip is where I spent my youth listening to big engine and just having fun. It is a uphill drag strip. My little brother had a car that he carried to the Valley and he was rather good.
Then in pulled the General Lee and it was hitting a mean lick. The man that drove the Duster in asked the guy "If it had the Big Block?" The driver told him that it did.
As you can tell I dug out my camera and jumped out of the truck and took a few photos.
The General Lee was shined like new money and unfortunately we left before he started it up again.
The kitty justice is how many times do you stop at a gas station and see two old cars drive into the station?

New addition: Quotes from Life's Little Instruction Book by H. Jackson Brown Jr.
1.Compliment three people each day.
2. Have a dog.
3. Watch a sunrise at least once a year.

Wednesday, June 08, 2011

I was standing in his driveway and the flower bed is eye level. He said these are Calla lilies. I thought the speckled foliage enchanted their beauty.
Looking down from the road onto the flower bed.
A closer view in these two photos.
The kitty justice is that is a treat to go see what he has blooming in his yard.

Monday, June 06, 2011

Our neighbor at the lake loves flowers and has some beautiful lilies growing near the side of his house.
A close up of the white ones.
We went up for a work vacation at Center Hill and we got the majority of the work done but not all. Do you ever get every thing done?
The kitty justice is the next time maybe our visit will not be ALL work and No play.

Sunday, June 05, 2011

As we were sitting on the upper porch enjoying Prince's birthday, Debbie mentioned that the sky was ripe for a photo. I jumped up and took the picture.
The kitty justice is a perfect ending to a wonderful day.

Saturday, June 04, 2011

The blue truck as it is affectionate called, has a new paint job. It had had over the years, many different drivers and hauled lots of items so it was more or less restored.
The kitty justice with all it's use, not many 84 Rangers look so good.

Friday, June 03, 2011

Moe cat was laying in the front flower bed with his head in the shade and his tummy in the sun.
The Kitty Justice is too enjoy such a good nap.

Thursday, June 02, 2011

Instead of a birthday cake, I made Prince a birthday Cherry Cobbler. We had vanilla ice cream to place on top. Yes the cherries were from our very own trees.
We had just finished the hamburgers and home made potato salad and all were waiting for dessert. In the photo left to right is Cricket, Edward, Prince, Mimi, Bep,Maggie and Debbie. Puppy and Albert were sitting at the round table with the umbrella. It was too dark to get a good photo of them.
The kitty justice is the cherry cobbler was quick history.

Wednesday, June 01, 2011

Edward (Prince's little brother) and Prince enjoying a fun time together as Ed cooks hamburgers. I was thrilled that he offered to cook since it was SO hot in the nineties. I do believe it got up to 94 officially here but at one time our thermometer had 100 on it. Hot, Hot & HOT.
Puppy showing the birthday boy a tape of Clint Eastwood (who happens to have the same birthday -but years older) not liking surprises.
The Kitty Justice is it was a nice birthday for my Prince.
