Before we got on the Interstate 40 heading home from the lake, we stopped at a gas station in Silver Point. Prince got out to pump gas and a Duster Plum Crazy pulled in on the other side of the pumps. Prince asked if the Valley drag strip was still going and the gentleman said it was. The Valley drag strip is where I spent my youth listening to big engine and just having fun. It is a uphill drag strip. My little brother had a car that he carried to the Valley and he was rather good.
Then in pulled the General Lee and it was hitting a mean lick. The man that drove the Duster in asked the guy "If it had the Big Block?" The driver told him that it did.
As you can tell I dug out my camera and jumped out of the truck and took a few photos.
The General Lee was shined like new money and unfortunately we left before he started it up again.
The kitty justice is how many times do you stop at a gas station and see two old cars drive into the station?

New addition: Quotes from Life's Little Instruction Book by H. Jackson Brown Jr.
1.Compliment three people each day.
2. Have a dog.
3. Watch a sunrise at least once a year.

Good evening, sorry haven't been around much. Been busy, busy, busy. Hopefully I will be able to catch up. WEnt yesterday to Tires unlimited to get four new ones, we still have the tires that came on the car, 2003 Toyota, but they didn't have them in stock, so they called this morning and our one daughter drove me back down, didn't take them long to put on, balance and etc. Came to a total of $328.49, which seems like a pretty good deal to me. I usually do my grocery shopping on Thursday, 5% senior discount, but it was too hot by the time we got home, so figured I would go early in the morning. Also yesterday on our way back from the tire place, we stopped at a Farmer's market and a meat store. Got a huge, delicious angel food cake, German Baptist women make them, I don't normally like angel food cake, but this was good. Cost $8.99, sounds expensive, but it was a really large cake. Also had some fresh strawberries with it yesterday. Our Grandson graduated on Sat. afternoon and our Custer reunion was on Sunday, so it seems the last few weeks have been busy ones. Hope all is well at your house. Like the idea about three compliments a day and watching a sunrise, but not too keen on house breaking another dog. We have this huge cat living with us at the present, not sure how well it would like a dog. Thanks for visiting.
What fun to see the General drive in. Loved that car. LOL

I try to do all 3 things mentioned.

BTW: Did you go to the drag races? Would have been fun. MB
Great cars...great memories.

You have been a busy woman. I think you got off good for the price you paid for tires. We had to buy 2 sets a few months back for each truck. The bills were not pretty. Glad you liked the instructions. Peace

I would have loved to ask him to blow the horn to see if it sounded like the real General. No we did not go to the races but we might sometime when we go back to the lake. Peace
