Prince and I went to the Center the Friday we were at the lake. This is located off Highway 56 just across the Hurricane Bridge (at the moment being worked on)and you have to take an immediate left and then up you go on a scenic road with a rock wall that reminds Prince of Germany roads. Other parts of the drive have wooden fences. When you arrive an unassuming building greets you but when you walk around outside and inside you realize this is another of Tennessee Treasures.

Just outside the front door are these little metal flowers and other artwork. Please enlarge to see details. Now the Center is a satellite campus of Tennessee Tech University located in Cookeville, TN. It is a 87,000 square foot facility located on 500 wooded acres with 4 trails for those who like to hike. Inside is located a wonderful Gallery with fine Southeast regional crafts and the "Redbud Cafe" which you need to call for seasonal hours (615-597-6964) There are two annual celebrations , one in Spring ( held in April this year) and the other is a Holiday Festival that will be held November 25-27. The Gallery will be open until December 23, therefore, you make still get a Xmas gift or two. Everything is original and you cannot get this quality at a Mall.
The Kitty Justice is we will be at the Center all week and maybe longer.

Hope you're having a great time. We've been having some wonderful weather this past week. Did get pretty warm yesterday, but I DID NOT TURN THE AC back on. They had to suffer a little and use fans. LOL Our bill this last time for part of Aug and Sept was $145.00 for the electric we used. There are four of us, using the clothes dryer, playing on computers, using two TV's and etc. Have a great time. And thanks for your visits.

We had a nice breeze here even with the unusual warm weather. We use lots of fans all the time as it helps with the electric bill. I had a TVA audit and they made suggestions how to save energy but now I have to choose from their list of business to get the rebate and come up with the money to fix the problems. When you get an agency involved, it is always too much red tape. I need to get on that list and if the companies do not give free estimates, I will cross them off the list like I did Pella Windows. They wanted me to pay them $150.00 an hour for them to come and give us an estimates. Not gonna happen. Peace
