Prince standing outside of the Hendersonville Presbyterian Church.
The inside of the Church and the plaque outside on the front of the Church.

One of the oldest ledgers showing where Capt. Thomas B. Wilson gave the Church $30.00.
Capt. Thomas B. Wilson, Mimi's Grandfather, went to this Church and not by car but horse and buggy from his home, Wilson Farms, (now known as the old Comer House) off Gallatin Road.
As luck would have it, the new pastor had come by to go to his office and the Church was open and we got to go inside and find the document.
The new pastor graciously gave us a book "A Century Plus Five Years' by Powell Stamper which is a history of the Church from beginning to 1974. Capt. Wilson was mention on page 17. Prince gave him a donation for being so generous.
The kitty justice is to love the coincidence that the Church was unlocked at the time we stopped.

Hi There, I worked at the First Methodist Church in Hendersonville for 3 yrs before retiring and moving to Fairfield Glade. The Presbyterian Church is right down the street from my church.. In fact, one lady on staff at the Methodist Church belongs to the Pres. Church.. Small world, isn't it?

Hugs,
Betsy
Such history!!!
Coincidences are gentle nudges from heavenly beings I think.

I may have to borrow that phrase to use later. It was a fun being able to go inside and stand where so very many had been. I wondered just where Capt Wilson sat as you know people are creatures of habit. Peace
