As the sun was rising Friday morning, June 29th, I grabbed my camera and headed out on the porch to capture the beauty of the morning. I carried the camera out front as the clouds were gorgeous. As you can see Maggie was returning from the bottom of the drive to bring the paper to her Mimi to read.
The kitty justice at that time of day it was really pleasant and I had no idea we would break the 1952 record as our temperature rose to 109 degrees.
BTW ; It was 107 on Thursday and we have been warned it will reach 104 today and it might go even higher. The KITTY JUSTICE IS THAT IS TOO DAMN HOT!!!!!!!!

This little guy and plant were one of the door prizes at Art Ventures this month.
The kitty justice is this is the only kind of snail you wish for your garden.

 Cloud ring around the sun.
This mornings sunrise. I do love watching the old girl come up. Each one is so different but each enjoyable.
The Kitty Justice is we need clouds full of rain, not too much but some to quench the thirst of Mother Earth.

This treehouse was located on the far side of the first pond or lake. It represents Marcus Pfister, The Rainbow Fish, 1992.

"The Rainbow Fish shared his scales left and right, and the more he gave away, the more delighted he became. When the water around him filled with glimmering scales, he at last felt at home among the other fish."

The Kitty Justice is it took LOTS of CD's to complete his scales.

Little Brother is a Junior but he is nothing like our old man. I would have loved to have had a loving Father like little brother but alas, I had what I had and in the end it made me who I am.
The Kitty Justice is that all he got beside the name was that quick temper and he has mastered that too. Happy Fathers Day, Little Brother and all yawl fathers out there. I love this photo as he is squinting like Grandpa (my first love).

Prince took this photo this morning while I was still curled up asleep.
The kitty justice is if you stay in bed too long you miss the best part of the day.

The above two photos were taken as the sun went down yesterday evening.

These four photos were taken as a series as the sun rose this morning.
The kitty justice is we sure do live in a beautiful world.

When Mimi looks out her window, she sees these ferns and flowers.
Friday I got a surprise from each of my guys. Prince came home carrying this wonder pink basket of Petunias. Puppy had surprised me earlier in the day by leaving me two pots of Zebra Grass. Puppy planted the grass for me outside his bedroom window in the front of the house.
The kitty justice is I love these kind of "SURPRISES."

AHOY!!!
The Jolly Roger from J. M. Barrie, "Peter and Wendy" 1911. "One green light squinting over Kidd's Creek, which is near the mouth of the pirate  river, marked where the brig, the Jolly Roger, lay, low in the water; a rakish-looking craft foul to the hull..She was the cannibal of the seas, and scarce needed that watchful eye, for she floated immune in the horror of her name."

I liked the baskets up around the tree for the crow's nest. There was also a wooden wheel for the mates to turn and a large clock on the bow. At the stern was a detachable flag that could be taken out and waved at their capture r  (parents) as they sailed away for a small reprieve. Luckily no plank was visible as I am sure some would have been forced to walk into arms of land lovers below.

The kitty justice is the mates should have had to read the book before they were allowed to board the ship.

This tree house was located on the second pond in the West Gardens. Those are different colored ropes. If I had to choose this would fall on my least favorite of the Tree Houses. However, I can see how a child would love to bob up and down in a rope ball over water.
This tree house represents the book, "Haroun and the Sea of Stories," 1991 by Salman Rushdie.
"He looked into the water and saw that it was made up of a thousand, thousand, thousand and one different currents, each one a different color, weaving in and out of one another like a liquid tapestry of breathtaking complexity; and Iff explained that these were the Streams of Story, that each colored  strand represented and contained a single tale."
The kitty justice is I only see vaguely the connection of book and tree house.

Prince has been taking LOTS of photos of the Sun rise everyday this week and here is what he captured today. Use your imagination to figure out the animals.
The kitty justice in the last photo we get a "Kiss from above."

"His ordinary voice sounded like a whisper after the harsh note of the conch. He laid the conch against his lips, took a deep breath and blew once more. The note boomed again, and then at his firmer pressure, the note, fluking up an octave, became a strident blare more penetrating than before." William Golding, "LORD OF THE FLIES, 1954

A rather pretty sight for all ages and it seemed to draw more children to it than The Giver Tree House. Do you think it might have been the sand.

The kitty justice is the next time these children visit the sea and see a conch will they remember climbing around inside this shell?

At Cheekwood from May 26-September 3, 2012, there is a garden display of 7 TREE HOUSES. Each one was inspired by a book. This one represents "The Giver, 1993 by Lois Lowry. This is the back coming up the hill from the gardens. The top window on the right is where I stood to take the third photo of this series.
This photo shows the house from the left front. The first entrance on the right is an incline that circles you around to the little balcony on the left. There is a slide you can go down and exit at the second opening. Needless to say the kid in me did not come out so I went back down the incline.
Again this is the view from the little balcony window.
These are the views from the incline looking out at the world.
"Things could change...Things could be different. I don't know how, but there must be some way for things to be different. There could be colors"(Taken from the book which was in the brochure)
The kitty justice if you enlarge the last 2 photos you can see the world in colors.

My wonderful Prince turned sixty this last week. He took a few days off and we played, piddled and even manage doing some work.

I got him a signed hat, shirt and book . Thanks DW you made his day.
I had our friend Danny Greer to make Prince a couple of candle holders from wood that came from our farm.
The kitty justice is he looks great on his big 6-----0.
