The Battle House

This is the plaque that greets you when you first enter the hotel from your car. Then you walk through the lobby.
When men and women were not allowed to dine together in the old days, they would be seated on the whispering balcony. The men on one side and the ladies on the other and they would whisper back and froth to one another. Puppy and I went up and tried it however, the air conditioning was too loud to hear the whispered word.
There were three balconies you could explore.

While standing on the whispering balcony, I took a photo of the glass ceiling and the floor below. Do you see the two dogs?  On the far side below is the restaurant where we had breakfast each morning.
The Battle House Renaissance Mobile Hotel and Spa is a very fancy hotel . I appreciated the historic splendor and style just as much as I am sure American Presidents, Ulysses S. Grant and Woodrow Wilson  did when they stayed here.
The Kitty Justice was too hear the walls TALK. Oh, what they could tell us.

Beautiful photos of a gorgeous place.
Question: why are dogs allowed? Just asking. Unless they are service dogs...?
It is a beautiful hotel. The balconies and the ceiling are absolute "splendors."...I would love to see them. Thank you for sharing.

I too thought it was strange for such a fancy place to allow dogs that were not service dogs but I never asked. Glad you enjoyed. Peace
