Would you know ?

This was taken on Wilson Farms in Gallatin Tennessee when Mimi was a wee child . Her sister, Lucy is on the pony and she is in the buggy.
The Kitty Justice is to have Mimi here to tell us who was in the photo.

Lambs Ear

Lambs Ear is a very satisfactory ground cover. When Puppy was very small he asked a lady if she would give him some when his Mimi took the lady home from the Thrift shop where they had been volunteering and he spied the plant at her home. I really do not know if he liked the plant or the name. But the lady was very kind to my small child and brought him a pot of it the next time she worked at the shop. We have had it out front ever since, which has been a few years. I love to see the dew glisten on it's leaves.
The Kitty Justice have you felt of a lamb's ear either plant of animal?

I have a large patch of sage with a tiny sprig of rosemary by the lone boxwood on the right side of the garage. I do not cook that much with it but love how it looks. I would put  more out front if it was just me. Puppy told me not to long ago that he also loves how it looks. So I may put some around his little porch out back of the cabin.
The Kitty Justice is the question "Do you like to eat it or look at it?"
BTW  Do you give sage advise?

Save Me

Those who follow this blog know that I use to have 150 house plants that I took in during the winter and put outside in the summer. I have less than a third that number now as I have given plants away but now I find myself with pots of the same plants (cannot throw cuttings away, I have to stick them in dirt) or HUGE plants that I cannot manage. This one is an Angel Wing Begonia which Mz Earle was so kind to give me long before she left planet Earth.
The palms came in a tiny little blue booty vase when Puppy was born. I long ago split it and put it in two square pots with filler plants. I have taken the back pot inside.
This is a Orange tree which was less than eight inches tall when I got it and now it is over five feet. I have it on rollers but with my back it is still too difficult to get inside plus I would have to cut it way back in order for it to fit.
Gran Dot brought this plant which we call "Poor Man's Orchid" to the hill years ago and I just have too many of these to keep this one.
This is a Lemon Tree and I got it at the same time I got the Orange tree. Until they got too large, I would put them in the Library and the past few years, I would cut them back and roll them into the shop room under a grow light to spend their winter.
Mimi said her sister Lucy brought this plant to her on one of her trips from California. I never met Lucy as she was sick and passed away right after Prince and I married. I do not know the name of this plant but when we visited San Diego, they had these as trees in the parks.
I have asked others if they would like them and Puppy will be checking with his friends as most of them could use them to accent a room. I also put them on Facebook wishing to avoid a death sentence for them.
However, it is too much for me to care for them any longer.
As Betsy said on her Facebook "a girl has to do what a girl has to do."
The Kitty Justice is it makes me sad to just leave them to the Cold world.

Another foggy morning

The weather person on our channel four was talking about how visibility was not good in the valley and you can see a very thick blanket of fog.
However on the hill we were clear and in the field below our house, I saw one large coyote and five deer while I was capturing photos of the fog. Be sure to enlarge each photo to get a better effect.
The sun is up and has colored the fog.
The Kitty Justice is to enjoy your morning as much as this Kat.

When I awoke this morning it was very foggy and you still could not see the hills when this photo was taken at eight AM. Around lunch the sun was out and the sky was Azure blue. (Sorry no photo)
At four the clouds came rolling in again. I did not put the white barn in this photo as I wanted to show more sky but it was taken looking at the same view.
The Kitty Justice is to keep your eyes wide open to see all the changes in the sky as in life.
BTW The phrase "eyes wide open" is from a song. Do yawl know the song?

Got this in an E mail and thought I would share.
The Kitty Justice is this is really true for this Kat.

Fall is trying to appear in Tennessee so I have pulled out some decorations that can be for October and November. This one is the center piece of the dining room table.
On the side table, under the cake dome, I have put a piece of artwork by Donna Rizzo. You can see more of her work at I placed a little bird with real blue bird tail feathers(the bird hit our windows and died) in the ladies arms.
I got the big leave section platter as a gift and I found the Angels at our local Dollar Tree. I put these on our sideboard.
Prince brought me the plant which loves this section of the dinning room so I added an orange bow and placed a little orange bird from our trip to Mobile.
Out in the hallway, a brass shell (which I found at the This N That Thrift Store) I filled with turkey feathers that Prince has found on the farm. Mz Kay on Duck Dynasty said Phil has always brought her turtles, well Prince always brings me feathers he finds.
I also changed the candles (all 12 of them) to a off white.
The Kitty Justice is that I do not have to decorate again until it is time for Christmas. Have yawl done any shopping yet?

Hedy Weinberg- executive director of ACLU-TN. A RELIGIOUS RAT who has just had her office to send out 135 letters to schools superintendents as a gentle reminder to NOT have prayers at school events.
A common everyday Rat who will destroy whatever he wishes at your home etc if allowed to survive.
My brother and I call this one a Forest Rat because if they spot you out hunting they will chirp until the whole area has been alerted.

The Kitty Justice is the only good rat are cartoons ones.
BTW All photos were taken from the Internet.

I found these bulbs out in the front yard and I guess they were buried too deep to come up before last year. Anyway, I asked Mimi and she said Aunt Bryd had a great many of them at Clarendon Avenue and when they moved our here after WWII, she had moved some. So I dug them up and put them around the bird bath. They have just come up this past month and are currently blooming. She said they were Spider Lilies. I think I like this kind of spider.
This guy is no longer around the back door but each morning he would take his web in and then at night he would build another. Prince got a kick watching his antics each night. He even named him Webster. As long as he stays outside and away from me he can live. Otherwise if he makes it inside, well I shall get rid of him permanently
About a week ago, I was channeling Grandma so in my Bassie moment, I was stacking the tomato cages up and something bit my left hand. I did not feel it but I looked down and it was swelling and turning dark. I went and pulled out the Clorox jug. Got a cotton pad and soaked it with the Clorox and proceeded to hold it on the place for ten minutes. It hurt like the dickens but it stopped the darkness and swelling. It did not itch until this week and I may always have a dark spot on the bottom of my left thumb but that is not as bad as it could have been. You should cut the Clorox with water but it was growing so fast, well I did not take the time.
The Kitty Justice is to always wear gloves and since I had been inactive for so long well I just forgot. NOT ANY MORE.
