Happy Easter

Growing up in the country in Smith County, I never knew the real name of this bush until I was an adult because it was known to me as the Easter Bush. I guess it was called that as it normally blooms during Easter time.
Here is wishing you Bunny rabbits hopping around and baskets full of Easter eggs. A day filled with family and friends along with a nice Easter meal. I will serve ham, sweet potato casserole, asparagus, Waldorf salad along with sliced tomatoes surrounded by stuffed eggs and lots of rolls to butter. Yes we use the real butter on the hill. If you still have room I will serve you Cherry Cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Do I need to set yawl a plate?
The Kitty Justice is to have a Happy Easter and give thanks to the ONE who gave ALL for us.

HAPPY EASTER TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

Of course now you know the Easter Bush as a Forsythia--don't you!

Thank you
MB

Forsythia was named after the chief gardener in Kensington Gardens,or was it Hyde Park? His name was Forsyth and he developed this plant. He was probably a Scot...

Thanks and I hope you had a very bunny one too. Yes, I learned the name a long time ago, but prefer to think of it as the Easter Bush. Peace

Hope you had lots of eggs in your basket. Dinner was eaten with relish and nothing was left on anyone's plate. However, Aunt Karen did not finish her dessert as she said she was full. Instead of a cobber, I made a 12 inch cherry pie from some of last years cherries. Peace

Thanks for the history and being the chief gardener, he probably was a Scot. I love to think of it as the Easter Bush as it brings forth so many wonderful childhood memories riding on the happy yellow color. You do know that Yellow to me is the Happiest Color and you cannot help but smile when you gaze upon it. Peace
