ALAN JACKSON
The story starts when Puppy was only about three years old. We were on our old pontoon boat floating around the largest part of the lake and it was in the middle of the week therefore not many boats were out on the lake when we spied this huge white sea going boat named "Neon Rainbow" just cruising along the shoreline.
Prince said it was Alan Jackson. Now before he was famous, he worked as a Runner at Nashville network and Prince worked in the computer area, so he would hear them page him. Prince said that with him going so slowly around the shoreline that he was probably looking for a place to build a house.
That is his house and the boat was built to match the house. The boats name is Lucille.
As we were leaving the dock on Saturday, he pulled up in his wooden boat. He has two on the lake, one big and the other small. Aboard with him were lots of teenagers so we figured that one of his girls was having a party and he was just being the normal Dad driving them around on the lake.
He is really a nice man and from what few encounters we have had with him, he does not put on airs. Thus said, I recall one day when Puppy was still small and Alan was out in his ski boat and we were in our bass boat and he was floating just outside his house. He had on his big white cowboy hat and Prince told him the story that they use to work at the same place and asked how he was doing. He said Fine and that it sure was HOT out here. At that time his song talking about HOT was out.
He has since lost the cowboy hat and wears a cap like other boaters. He had free concerts on the lake and we floated down the lake to one of them. One was held at around Floating Mill park and we just sat on the porch and he entertained us. Mother was on one of her just getting out of the hospital trips and she sat there and enjoyed it more than anyone will ever know. I am so thankful to Alan for that concert as she would never been well enough to see and hear him otherwise. The last three years of Mother's life she was in the hospital more than she was at home. Therefore, Mr. Jackson it was worth you cutting those trees.
The Kitty Justice is that Prince loves boats and cars so he was taking a picture of the big wooden boat not Alan.

MAGGIE'S FIRST BOAT RIDE
At first she did not like the ramp and laid flat like a pancake. Prince could not get her to move as she was pretending to be a petrified dog. So with no audience to witness his plight, he lifted her up and carried her to the concrete boat ramps. She carefully walked along side of him to the boat and then again had to have his assistance.
Once on the boat she was content to lay by the door and look around at any curious object. Here she has just seen a boat with little people.
The Kitty Justice is that she acted much better for Puppy the next day.

TEN DAYS OF PLEASURE
The white house is at the end of our one lane road and our little cabin is nestled in the trees. When it was built in the early 60's, there were not as many houses. Now days as you can tell from the house being built on the hill they are monster houses. Cousin CD said if you have more than 45 minutes of housework, you have too much house. Looks like the one being built is TOO MUCH HOUSE.
The new dock is a wonderful place. The store is on the left under the blue roof and the entrance to the Blue Gill Grille (don't say that too fast) is the tall section in the middle with an inside dining area and and outside dining area. My sister and her husband came up for a boat ride and we ate at the restaurant and sat outside. It has a great view of the boats coming and going.
The last picture was taken at the overlook on hwy 56. It shows a smooth ride up Mine Lick Creek. Most skier head for this area.
The Kitty Justice is that we had a grand time and during the week you almost have the whole lake to yourselves.

CENTER HILL LAKE HERE WE COME!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot wait to put my paws on those well worn steps and go inside where a little bit of Heaven exist.

First of all the guys will pack all the gear inside and I will put it away and then to sit and relax in the quite atmosphere. There are not any phone lines, cable television nor computer allowed. It is nice to turn off the cell phones and only turn them on to check in with the family.

Each morning I will take my coffee outside and sit on the deck and just veg out. When you enter this magical place it is like all your CARES DISAPPEAR.

The first four pictures were taken by my BIL and the new dock was being built. It will be nice to see the finished project. I am sure the water is too low to get the boat close to the falls but maybe we can venture into those creeks just a little. The best time to go to the falls is in early part of the season while the lake is high.

The sunset pictures was taken from the end of our lane where there is a turn around for the inhabitants. I will take more when I get there. It is fun to get a glass of wine and head either to the rocks or the end of the road to watch the sun go down. Prince and I have even been guilty of taking a whole bottle down to the rocks and watch the moon glisten across the water.

At summer pool the little island in the last picture is usually under water and the heron nest in the bushes and trees. We like to float in our boat all around the island and then take off up either Second Creek or Little Hurricane to see how many new houses have been built.

Both Prince and I grew up on this lake but never met until much later. His family had the cabin and I camped out in tents just right across the cove in the park. Small world.

Prince and I were married at the cabin so to say the cabin has WONDERFUL memories is an understatement.

The Kitty Justice is that we will finally get to the lake for some well deserved R & R.

MAGGIE'S GREAT ADVICE!!!!!!

If I was your teacher you would learn stuff like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ECSTASY.

When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.

Let others know when they've invaded your territory.

TAKE NAPS. Stretch before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back in the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout.....run right back and make friends.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.

Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you're NOT.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

The Kitty Justice is Maggie lives by these daily and even when she does not wish to turn around and have a picture made, she will but you can see it on her face she is NOT HAPPY with the stop as this delays her payment for job well done.

HAZEL AND THE ART CENTER

The little lady in red is the center's art teacher. She is a slip of a woman but has more talent than most people dream about acquiring. Hazel was 88 this year but still teaches four days a week and a few nights she teaches ball room dancing.

Hazel has been the Art Center's main teacher for YEARS , so it is easy to say ,one without the other just would not do.

Hazel loves people and in turn everyone loves her and if they do not we will WONDER ABOUT THEM. She talks very reverently about her former teacher and loving calls him Pops. She will state "That's what Pops use to say."

Several of her peers were my college art teachers and we get to talking about them and laughing at their comments. But my very first teacher, I do not mention her name in Hazel's presents as she will tell you in No uncertain terms how she disliked the woman.

I always liked my first teacher, Juanita Green Parks, she had red hair and swooped it forward like Woody Woodpecker and when she talked she would squawk like a peckerwood. In her class you not only learned to draw, but you were required to know all the bones and muscles in the human body. Her first statement when she would enter the classroom would be "Lets draw inside out".

I would never tell Hazel this but her and Juanita remind me of one another. Yikes, maybe that was it. Too much alike.

The Kitty Justice is that all should have a Hazel to know.

NEW PAINT JOB

The This N That Thrift Shop has a new look. It is blue with white trim. I must say this new color is pleasing to the eye much more so that the HEN S---Shoo that it was.

My Presidency will be over in five months and so many days and I can leave with a SMILE and a pretty new color for the shop.

Now that is REAL KITTY JUSTICE going from hen s---shoo to a pretty blue.

FOUND HER RESIDENCE

I know you are wondering who lives there under the umbrella mushroom. Now really don't you remember the fairy tales?

In High School I submitted a painting of her and won First Place. My pictures was hung in the library of the school for all the students to see. Also, the Blue Ribbon with the First place notation.

Now I was too poor to have formal lessons and my best buddy had had lots of lessons. He submitted a couple of paintings but he did not even get an honorable mention. With a bitter pill he lamented that it was BECAUSE------------. I knew he was hurt so I did not make a big deal of it but oh how happy I was inside to have won.

Now do you know who she is? It starts with a T. The authors first name was Hans.
Now do you know?

The kitty justice is I saw her pixiness just the other day when I spotted her home.

JUST A NOTE

IT WAS SO HOT AND HUMID TODAY THAT I RELUCTANTLY WENT OUTSIDE ON MAGGIE'S NECESSARY TRIPS.

PUPPY SPENT THE WEEKEND GAMING ON THE COMPUTER AND PRINCE BUSH HOGGED SOME PATHS FOR THE HAY MAN AND AROUND THE POND. TO NOT HAVE HAD MUCH RAIN THE FIELDS SURE ARE HIGH.

THE HAY MAN TOLD PRINCE HE WOULD BE HERE MAYBE NEXT WEEK. HE CUTS AND BAILS THE HAY .THEN HE SELLS THE HAY. WE GET NICE CUT FIELDS. A VERY GOOD TRADE.

WE HAD COWS FOR YEARS BUT WHEN THE BACK SIDE OF THE FARM WAS SOLD WE SOLD ALL THE CATTLE AS WE DID NOT WISH TO FENCE THE PROPERTY.

FOR AWHILE, GARY CHAPMAN'S CAMEL WITH ITS FAMILY OF SHEEP WOULD WONDER OVER AND THEN HE WOULD COME AND HERD THEM BACK ON HIS GATOR.

SOME DOGS FROM A SUB DIVISION CHASED CAMILE THE CAMEL AND SHE RAN OFF INTO A RAVINE AND BROKE HER POOR NECK. IT WAS ALWAYS FUN TO LOOK OUT AND SEE HER AND HER LITTLE GROUP OF SHEEP FOLLOWING HER. IT WAS REALLY SAD WHAT HAPPEN TO HER.

NOW ALL WE HAVE WONDERING THE FARM ARE A FEW STRAY DOGS AGAIN FROM NEIGHBORING SUBDIVISIONS , COYOTES, DEER, TURKEY, RACCOONS, GRAY AND FOX SQUIRRELS , RED FOX AND AT ONE TIME A BOBCAT.

THE BOBCAT WOULD WALK THE FENCE LINE BETWEEN THE HOUSE AND WHITE BARN AND OCCASIONALLY I WOULD SEE HIM. HE LIVED NEAR THE POND AND ONE COLD WINTERS DAY, THE POND WAS FROZEN AND A LIGHT SNOW HAD FALLEN . HIS FOOTPRINTS AND THE MOUSE HE WAS CHASING WERE ALL OVER THE FROZEN POND. UNFORTUNATELY, HE WAS A VICTIM OF OUR BUSY ROADWAY A FEW YEARS BACK.

THE KITTY JUSTICE WAS WE ALL HAD A VERY NICE SUNDAY. HOPE Y'ALL DID TOO.

CALL ME SLOW..........

My Clean freak Grandmother would be so proud of me. Yesterday, I cleaned the computer with the air duster and it dawn on me this little can could improve my life.

I jumped up got the tall stool and up to the ceiling fans I bounded in one giant leap. All those little cracks and cervices are now as clean as a pen. It did look like a dust bowl below but that was easy to clean.

Next the dining room light and the lights in the hall. WOW. Why had I not thought of this before.

All the little nick knacks spread around the house also got a frosty cleaning. I need more of those canned jewels for the next inspirational cleaning frenzy.

The Kitty Justice is the clean gene has gone back into hiding today and we have not one but two races to watch. Last nights Busch race was canceled due to rain. That rain needs to head North, Please.

FRIDAY AT LAST!!!!!!!!

I plan to do just whatever I find around the house to do today. Nothing to strenuous.

Yesterday with my ole sore body, I painted the cabinet which had to be cut down to fit my new laundry system into the laundry room. The new system arrives next week. It is suppose to be high efficiency so less water and electricity will be used.

The dryer I used now belongs to Mimi so it is older than Puppy. The washer is only a few years younger than Puppy. So needless to say I was thrilled to be painting the cabinet as it meant a new system was coming to the hill.

Have not heard a peep about the blue train so I am just waiting to see if my insurance will GO UP and how much the damage will cost. I will have to shell out the deductible and I would have loved to use that cash to pay for some more improvements to the kitchen.

The house was built in 1965 and everything is the same. Except we have worn out a few dishwashers and frigs. The stove is the same, the ovens the same and it needs a new floor and a paint job. It has only been painted once since we have lived here. Whatever paint is used will be sucked up into the wall board like a big sponge.

Oh well, can't worry bout that Scarlett. I am just happy that I can move and the rods and screws in my back did not shift in that mishap. My Angel had to be working overtime to keep the little teenager and me safe. THANKS MOM.

It is gonna be a true July hot day with temps in the 90's and low of 70's. We hope to get a shower. I put the umbrella back out on the table to try to insure a shower. My Grandmother would be proud of such superstition. Bless her heart, she knew them all and imparted them to me to pass on to my child.

I am off to play in the laundry room. I am saying a fitting good bye to the old tubs.

The Kitty Justice is that I am tickled pink that it is Friday. It will be a good Nascar weekend for Prince.

"TAKE MINE "

This is the statement that Mimi usually makes whenever, I drive her somewhere.
Yesterday was the first day in a month we had gone to the shop to volunteer. Since Mimi is now using a walker and I figured she would get tired, I had Puppy come and work in the morning and then take Mimi home at lunch. I stayed on and helped Rick close the place up.

Getting off the interstate at our exit and turning left has really become a challenge as we have to turn left and go back under the interstate. Back when the interstate was built the way it is set up worked fine as there was hardly any traffic due to the fact it was mostly rural area. However, with all the new subdivisions and each one is built without a through street ,therefore all are dumped out on our street. Progress but nothing was done to the road system. Also, our street is now a major cut through to the booming industry in Cool Springs again making traffic a nightmare.

Check out the first photo. You get off I 40 and get on I 40 at the same spot going East. Heading west on I40 you get off on the other side of the interstate and then you are subject to the on and off traffic and then there is a curve with a hill before you as you try to get on and off. WHAT.

Back to the story, coming home I pulled out and noticed a gold SUV on the side of the road across from the entrance to I40 east and by the time I had finished my looky loo I saw the car in front of me was at a stand still. YIKES.I hit the brakes as hard as I could but alas the blue train kept going and WHAM the next thing I saw was an Air bag. Oh, that HURT S!!!!!!!

The blood was running out of the blue train and I turned off the engine as I knew she would get HOT. I can honestly say at first I did not know where I was or who I was and why it hurt so much. The teenager came over and asked "Mam, are you alright." I told him I thought so.

I called my Insurance company while the teenager called the police none emergency number to report the accident. Then I called Puppy to let him know what had happen 3 miles from home. He told me to calm down and he would be right there.

As I was sitting stunted in the middle of the road, several cars and dump trucks came whizzing by. One pick up truck came around me on the right side at the same time a dump truck went around me on the left side and they both had to hit their brakes because they tried to get on the entrance ramp at I 40 East at the same time. I was thinking HOLY ----.

When Puppy arrived he said I needed to move the car off the road, but it had no blood but I started her up anyway and pulled over past the teenager's car. I only pulled her off the road 20 feet from where I hit the teenagers car and it smelled like a HOT HOT ENGINE. I felt better as I was no longer a sitting duck for someone else to hit.

The teenager was a nice young man who had just graduated from high school and I kept thinking this could have been Puppy. His parents should be proud of him as he was polite and just a nice young man.

Puppy kept the situation in order with calls to his Mimi and his father. He talked to Officer Sears and the teenager and was so cool, calm and polite.

A very nice and young policeman came and he was so concerned when he asked if we were hurt. He explained everything that had to be done and he took both our information to his car to fill out a report. Then after he got a case number and while we were waiting for a wrecker service to haul away the blue train, he explained what we would need to turn into our Insurance company. We were both insured by the same company just different agents.

Everyone should get the honor to deal with such a professional and nice police officer as the one we came in contact. The reason I say this is because we have had a lot of press about bad officers that it was a pleasant encounter even in a bad situation. Maybe they should clone Officer Sears.

Puppy and I watched as they loaded the blue train on the wrecker and then we headed home. When we arrived home, we called the repair shop and told them the blue train was coming to their shop.

Mimi said "If you didn't want me to drive anymore you could have told me instead of wreaking my car". Then she laughed as she was relieved that no one was hurt seriously.

The kitty justice is that I should have took mine (silver bullet) instead of hers (blue train).

Now to try to get up and MOVE. Tuesday has to be better than Monday.
