Good evening to all.
Prince captured this picture one afternoon as our neighbor flew over. I love the way God painted the sky for him to fly.
I have been making the kitchen friendlier for Mimi today. It may confuse a few of us for awhile as the fruit bowls will not be across the kitchen but within her long arm reach. She use to say she was not very fond of her long arms but as she has aged she realizes she was blessed.
Prince made her access to the silver bullet less cluttered and we both feel good that just by chance we might have made her live a little easier.
Her baby, Prince's brother is bringing his family and he will bring hamburgers to grill. It is a great evening to do so as the humidity has slipped away and maybe we can dine on the porch. Of course, Mimi will need a sweater. Hard to believe after August.
The Kitty Justice is we will all eat and drink and be happy on this wonderful Sunday and enjoy one another.

THE MOON AND MOON FLOWERS
On Mimi's wedding anniversary we had our first moon flower and we have had one each night except this past Thursday. Twice we have had two and one of those times was last night. The fragrant is so light and the petal are delicate.
Our Cousin's Cousin sent me the following email Thursday and I need to share it with all of you but mainly it is for Lee.
DOG DIARY
8am - Dog food! My favorite!
9:30 am - A car ride! My favorite!
9:40 am - A walk in the park! My favorite!
10:30 am - Got rubbed and petted! My favorite!
Noon - Lunch! My favorite!
1 pm - Played in the yard! My favorite!
5 pm - Milk bones! My favorite!
7 pm - Got to play ball! My favorite!
8 pm - Wow! Watched TV with the people! My favorite!
11 pm - Sleeping on the bed! My favorite!
NOW THE CAT DIARY
Day 983 of my captivity
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them. I once again vomit on the carpet.
Day 985 of my captivity
Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike FEAR into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. BASTARDS!!!!
Day 986 of my captivity
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.
Day 991 of my captivity
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow - but at the top of the stairs.
Day 993 of my captivity
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.
Day 997 of my captivity
The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell. so he is safe......... For now....
THE KITTY JUSTICE IS THAT THIS IS SO"FUNNY "TO HAVE GOTTEN AFTER MY COMMENTS TO LEE'S BLOG .

CHECK OUT THE PRICE!!!!!!
Last night as Prince and I were checking out the new television shows , during a commercial he went and got the small can of polish and his shoes. He opened it and there was just a smell of polish. He flipped the can over and then held it out for me to see.
I started laughing so hard that tears came to my eyes. Thirty nine cents. Just how old was this polish. He looked rather serious and said it was probably in his Father's shoe polishing kit. Now Prince's Father died in 1975 so this polish is an antique.
I told Prince not to say a word about anything Mimi had in the future. It is a standing joke that when you need sometime, she will have it but you can count on it being too old to use. When she tells us she has it we ask her to check the expiration date. Inveriable she has to throw it away and you can almost see the pain in her face as it hits the trash can.
The Kitty Justice is that Prince, Mimi and Puppy have a "DON'T THROW AWAY GENE" as they might need it later. At least they have not started filling up rooms and locking the door like Cuden Will and Cuden Mary Lou.

Prince's Office.

Good morning from the Hill.

PRINCE'S PICTURES

These are some of the pictures that Prince has taken with the camera that Puppy gave him this year. He has a carrying case that fits on his belt so he is always armed and dangerous.

I think he has a really good eye for composition and he is willing to take as many pictures as it takes to get a good one.

The Kitty Justice is he is working on his office approach to unsuspecting wildlife. Do you see the animal?

Little shaky but my arms were tired.
There were three flying around but I could only capture this one.

These are volunteers from seed as the plant was gone during
August heat.

These were moved to the end of the porch so that they would not
get the full afternoon sun. With a little water and a cooler place
they bounced back from only 2 or 3 strands.
Weekend
It was a wonderful weekend just did not rain and was hotter than usual. Normally we are in the low 80 or high 70's this time of year but it was 93 degrees yesterday.
Prince had a honey do list to do and he got most of it done and then he cut tree branches and hauled them off to a place on the farm. The branch he cut give us a better view of the area where he puts a salt block and shelled corn for the wildlife.
Just maybe when he begins to feed the deer and turkey and anything else that wonders up the hill , that the raccoons will stay down the hill away from my bird feeder.
The poor animals did not get any pears or apples to eat this year as the Easter frost killed the blooms. That includes us poor two legged animals . Plus, the frost made the nut crop very spares. There are not any hickory nuts and only a very few acorns and what nuts that are on the ground are less than half the size of last years crop.
The kitty justice is I should not get upset when I get up to find a big raccoon laying across my bird feeders as they as just hungry.

TEACHER
A very good article came out in September 2007 Nashville Arts magazine about Hazel King. Those who would like to read it go to www.nashvilleartsmagazine.com
Everyone needs someone like Hazel in their lives.
Maybe I can grow up to be like her. Why? She is 88 and still teaches art four days a week and dancing two nights a week. What a little firecraker.
The Kitty Justice is that if you do not know someone like her GO FORTH AND SEARCH ONE OUT. You will not regret it ever.

LITTLE BROTHER

ME

BIG SIS
THE PRETTY ONE
With my tomboy haircut and looks you can see why Sis was always referred to by family and friends as the pretty one.
It was not my fault that I was a tomboy but my parents. Yes, I will blame the parents as most kids did then and now. Both of them wanted a boy and had a boy's name picked out and my Mother even cried real tears when I was born "A GIRL".
The Doctor was so out done with them he told Mother "If you do not want this healthy baby girl, I will just take her home with me".
So you see for nine months I was program to be a boy and then before little brother came along, I had to try to live up to their disappointment.
I never ever really cared for dolls but each Christmas there would be one under the tree. I wanted something to play i with in the dirt. Since I did not get fun items, I took my Grandpa's little animals as toys. I played for hours with baby chicks, little rabbits and goats. Also frogs, which I would take pins and cloth to put diapers on because Grandma said if they peed on you, you would get warts,
I hated to stay inside but would sneak out whenever I got a chance. I ran with abandonment as I did not have any hair to hold me back.
I remember when little brother was brought down the hill by Mrs. Marks in a basket with a yellow blanket, I could not believe everyone was so excited to have this screaming red face thing in the house. I was so jealous of him. I pretended to be sick so I could sleep in the bed with him and Mother.
Here was a real boy and all my efforts had been for nothing. Tomboy verse real boy loses every time.
Now I was faced with a real problem, Sis was the Pretty One and Little Brother was a real boy. What could I do? I decided to be the Smart one.
I worked really hard at it and graduated from the eighth grade the third in my class, then in High School I was on the honor roll and was number ten in my class, which was the last number to get to wear a gold rope tassel around your neck over your gown at Graduation.
I was not lucky enough to have parents who wished to send their children to college, they thought high school would do so I worked during the day and went to school at night. Yes I made the Dean's list several semesters. Those were very long days but being young it was no big deal.
The Kitty Justice is I am happy that I was not the Pretty One nor Real Boy but back behind the mayo, I still hear them say "Oh, she is not the Pretty One " and feel the disappointment of the parents. I know it is in the Past and either forget about it or learn from it.

MY NEW TOY
As I was waiting my turn to pick up my prescriptions at the local drug store, I sat down for a demonstration of the massaging cushion. I thought this thing will be like all the other massage items around it will probably only make me itch. However, it was gonna be a long wait so I sat down.
WOW!!! This thing was great. I check the price and said NOT that great. My guys are forever saying I am a cheap deal shopper and I am proud of finding things for much less than the original price.
After Prince got home I told him how good the massage cushion made my back feel and he was indignant that I had not gotten it. So after several days thinking about it, I went and picked it up and then snuck it in the house. Why sneak? Mimi had been given several massaging items from her other son and wife and they are still in the house not being used and she would have thought I should use them. Even though they do not operate the same.
The Kitty Justice is the Shiatsu Massaging Cushion is worth more than I paid for it because it makes you FEEL SO GOOD.
The balls in the circle go round and round and up and down, just like the old song.

PUPPY PLAYING WITH HIS DAD'S OLD TOY TRUCK AND PRINCE FISHING.

Today is Prince's day but we will not go fishing. We will do whatever he wants to do and it will be WORK and he will call it FUN.

The Fun part of the work is we will be side by side and wondering what Puppy is doing with his time.

In the picture Puppy is 2 and now he has added a zero on the end of the 2.

The kitty justice is you do all you can do and hope it is enough. PEACE.

MORNING GLORIES
They suffered through the August heat and at times I wondered why I was still watering them. They get all afternoon sun and as you recall August was triple digits.
It has been in the high 50's in the morning and they have perked up to say "Oh, what a glorious morning" and are blooming their heads off to prove I was justified in keeping them alive.
Yesterday there were 32 blooms and this morning 24 blooms. I will once again save the seeds as these are the ones I spent so much on at Co-op.
The Kitty Justice is it is Friday night and lots of football to watch. Peyton Manning will be in town this weekend to give the Titans a lesson in AIR BALL.

Prince brought these home one day for no reason except he saw them and thought of me.

Given to me by Prince on Valentine 06.

Prince got this one for me on our last trip to Florida.

One of the few I bought for myself and at the Bellevue Antique Mall.

Display case in the Library, the right side.

Display case in Library, left side.

Top left of the display case.
MY TEAPOT COLLECTION
Everyone collects something and mine came by as an accident. Friends and family found out I loved teapots after I bought my first one in Hawaii in the 70's.
For years I would have a few scattered around the house and then The Linen Store in Green Hills closed its doors and sold its display cases. I bought one without thought that it would be a bugger to move. It has a bottom shelf which I lined with my Mother's table cloth, and two glass shelves and a mirrored back. I was not thinking how heavy it would be just that I could take my teapots out of storage boxes and display them dust free.
Prince, Puppy and Prince's brother Ed took the little blue farm truck to Green Hills and loaded her up. Prince's only request was that I make damn sure where I wanted this heavy ------- as he was not moving it again. So now it resides in the Library.
I took glass wax and cleaned the shelves and the mirror and put Natchez Solution on the wood base. It took several trips to the basement to bring my collection upstairs. Then I had to rearrange until I got them located in a perfect spot. There are none alike and I have been given most of them.
As I sit using the computer I can glance over at them and feel the love of those who gave them to me. Two of the family members are gone, My Mother and Gran Dot so those teapots are even more special than they were at the time given.
The kitty justice is that a collection makes the collector HAPPY AND MINE MAKES ME VERY VERY HAPPY.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGGIE.

AM I REALLY ONE YEAR OLD TODAY?

FOG'S RISING OUT OF THE VALLEY.

SEPTEMBER 12TH SUNRISE.

Since today is Maggie's birthday, I have given her more attention than usual. When we went out on the porch to hang the hummingbird feeders, it was a glorious 58 degrees. I just wanted to stand there and enjoy the sun coming up but I was all ready running late on getting my chores done before my first cup of coffee.
I love all the colors that the sun makes on the fog in the valley as it is rising. Such a wonderful day to be alive. Now to work.
I finally made the telephone call to the thread mill company to try an secure a replacement part. I finally had to put the teenager I was speaking AT not with on hold and ran downstairs to look to see which part it was compared to the blown up diagram. It looked like part 58 so I had her to order it for me and it should get here in a week. Prince loves to fix things so I plan to make him really happy as this was the whole back section of the walking deck.
I had had coffee but still no breakfast, I gathered up the dog blankets so I could take them and wash them all in a SUPER SIZE washer at the laundromat and the telephone rang. It was Pammie Poo wanting to know about our monthly lunch. We finally declared it to not happen this Friday as Carol will be in Chicago painting her daughter new place to hang her hat. Rather than continuing to pay rent she had figured out how to buy a condo. I congratulate her on being so wise at so young an age.
Time has not been harnessed by Lee yet so I was running out of it fast. I walked Maggie and stuffed the blankets and rugs in the trunk of the silver bullet and Mimi was headed for the door. Today is the day she gets her hair fixed.
Prince called and I sat and chatted with him for awhile in front of the hairdressers and then I looked at my watch and told him I was sorry but I had to run.
After I put everything in the SUPER SIZE washer, I thought why stay here and read when I can explore the shops behind the laundromat. Leaving the silver bullet parked there, I walked up the side street in the pleasant weather to the Bellevue Antiques Mall ,The Cottage Cafe and The Cottage of Bellevue. I started off at the farthest one which happen to be last mention. There were lots of antiques and gifts plus a room of new books and garden statues. I was trolling to find the Art Venture Door Prize for when Jo Jo and I host in January.
I looked through the Cottage and noticed there was a big doorway with a plaid curtain and you could go into the Cafe and then across the Cafe was another plaid curtain doorway which led into the Bellevue Antique Mall. I thought that was great to connect the cafe with the other two stores.
The Mall has several different vendors and I had just stopped at the first booth again trying to find something other than a plant or angel for a door prize. At this point I was approached by the sales lady and she introduced herself as Mrs C and I told her of my mission and she asked me if I had thought about having the luncheon at the cafe?
She placed me under her wing and whisked me off to meet the ladies of the cafe. One lady was called Teddy and they were so very friendly even as busy as they were. As Mrs C was telling me about the dining arrangements, Teddy held out a small dish with six different kinds of dessert. I succumbed and had the lemon square. It was like eating liquid sweet golden sunshine. (Not bad for breakfast) Then the other lady told me I had to try the homemade chips. Being a rat in a previous life, I immediately went for the thin one inch round cheese chips with sesame seeds. Yummy.
Then I was handed a spoonfuls of two different chickens salad. One was regular chicken salad and the other was pineapple chicken salad. Mrs C said they would fix me a free lunch to sample and I choose the Reuben sandwich served with the cheese chips and a fruit cup. WOW, free samples and now a free lunch. Sounds like they really want the Art Venture Group to book a luncheon. I brought home a menu but Mrs C wanted to send me a pretty one before I took it to this months luncheon.
I will take pictures of my find for a door prize later and post it. But first I have to send pictures to Jo Jo to see if she approves.
While I was browsing I did see an old wooden frame with Marlyn in it and I thought I sure know an Aussie who would love that for his collection. Of course I am speaking of Merle's brother Peter. Funny I might never have noticed that picture if I had not read his blog and saw his collection.
I told Mrs C that I had wrecked my MIL car and had left her at the hairdressers and I did not need to add the insult of being late. I walked back to the parking lot with my free lunch and door prize and ran into the laundromat and flung my rugs and blankets into the basket and headed for the door. A nice man held the door open for me and I thank him and as a southern do he said I was welcomed.
When I pulled up to the door of the hairdressers there sat Mimi waiting on me. Yikes. She said she had not been waiting long.
The Kitty Justice was I forgiven for being late as I shared my free lunch with her.BTW it was great and even Mimi wants to go and sit and have lunch later on.
Need to run and play Frisbee with the birthday dog.

IF YOU FEEL BAD TODAY JUST THINK OF TOMMY.
In October last year he was busy clearing out a fence row at his home. Next thing he knew he was on the ground. He thought if he could just sit up, he could get up.
He had a massive stroke and he was only 54. A helicopter landed in his back yard and whisked him to a Nashville hospital. For awhile the doctors did not give him much of a chance to make it. But they did not know he had been made from the category "Tough as Nails".
Time began to stand still and his days were therapy and more therapy. Finally, he got to return home but as fate would have it "He was his own worse enemy." In his mind he could do things that physically he could not do. While the gentleman who was staying with him put the dog up, he proceed to head for the kitchen and pain pills. He fell and broke his hip.
After this was repaired at the local hospital, he was placed in a Nursing home as his tiny wife and daughter could not care for him properly. Since then he has had several seizure and the last time had to be taken back to the local hospital.
He is only a month older than Prince and they have been good friends for a long time. Prince trys to go visit him at least once a week to help keep his spirits up. I have gone a few times but it is so damn depressing. The place is not that well kept and I have an adversion to bad smells.
The Kitty Justice is ole Tom Cat will go to Heaven as he is serving time in Hell now.
Peace to all on this day which will forever be etched in sadness.Who has forgotten? NOT ME.

Barn along 840.
Side view Rooster Tails

Front of Rooster Tails on hwy 31.

Another side view of Rooster Tails.

Black Dog Market on Arno Road. Note Prince's pose.

Buggy beside Black Dog Market.

Puppy in front of my tea pot collection and the portrait of his Great Great Great Grandmother Eliza Pitts Black Wilson. John R.'s wife mentioned in previous post. Note Puppy's pose.
Saturday September 8Th was declared a play day for Kitty and Prince. Puppy came home to stay with Mimi and also raid the kitchen and take some pictures to put on his sites. This is not one he choose but I like the mischievous grin displayed. Mimi said that her father walked around with his arms crossed thus as shown in the pictures it has come down the family gene pool.
Prince and I took the misguided mail that was put in our mailbox to our neighbors and then we headed to co-op. We went to Franklin's co-op by way of Holly Tree Gap. Our ride there we were heading to a storm cloud. After paying for our bird seed, the bottom dropped out of the sky. Glorious rain. We stood and talked to the merchant and kidded about what was that falling from the sky.
After 30 minutes it had not stopped so we all carried an item to the truck and we thanked him for his help and I walked very slow getting quite wet and I even turned my face up to the heavens. When we stopped for lunch we both were cold in the restaurant from our wet clothes.
Prince on his way home from work had been passing the Black Dog Market and we drove over to see what it was about. They had taken an old store and remodeled it. In the back were before and after pictures of the market.
Next stop was Rooster Tails on Hwy 31. It was a Hodge podge of stuff. We mainly wanted to check out the stars. He had them in all sizes and colors. They are made of tin and you can put them outside on any building. They are called 'Good Luck Stars". We are thinking about getting one for the white barn.
On our way home on hwy 840 we pulled off the road to get the shot of a once handsome barn. I thought it had lots of character. Oh, if those walls could talk.
The Kitty Justice is that Prince and I had some one on one time in the rain but got home to dry ground. The good news is that it rained here this morning.

ELECTION DAY TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 11,2007
First of all this was the cover of the August 30, 2007"Nashville Scene". It is one of our several free papers here in Nashville. I do not pick it up as the articles are not to my taste but the cover caught my eye.
Secondly, could we not have rescheduled the election to another Tuesday since it now will occur on one of the worse days in our history. Hope the man who wins the mayors job is not as big a disaster.
When Knoxie and I were headed back from the Art Venture Lunch she commented that there was not much of a choice, as both were good ole boys.
She said she was not gonna vote and I told her I planned to and why.
I have even put a voters registration card on Puppy's desk for him to complete. He will not get to vote in this one but he can vote in the next.
Pictured on the left is Bob Clement from a long line of Democratic family. His father was Governor of our State and I really think he is using the Mayor's race as a stepping stone to the Governor Mansion.
Pictured on the right is Karl Dean, who happen to marry rich. He looks like the actor, sorry cannot remember the name, who played in the "Birdcage" with Robin Williams.
I might ad that this is a run off election as neither got a majority of votes the first time round. The evening of the first election, Mr. Clement came out like a RABID ANIMAL and his tirade was embarrassing. My thoughts were "Do I want this rabid animal representing Nashville?"
Our current Governor is rich and has not taken a salary the whole time in office. Also, Mr. Dean has carried himself in a stately manner. Even when his opponent accused him of trying to buy the election.
Nashvillian better watch out as Mr. Clement got lots of campaign funds from outside sources.
The Kitty Justice is whoever wins, I hope they do not give Nashville a BLACK EYE.

RECTOR'S CHOICE
Father Spruill list his monthly choice of reading in the gone "monthly newsletter". They have updated to a web page. Anyway, in a moment of weakness I chose to buy and read this book. BAD CHOICE.
First of all the money would have been better spent by giving it to the homeless shelter. Secondly, I tried to trudge through the first chapter and it was very laborious. It was neither entertaining or informative. I would have gotten more from it if I had literally ate it like the title suggested.
I made it through the first chapter and started on the second. Yikes, more of the same. Opinions like bottoms we all have one and his is BIG TIME DULL.
I thought I will not be defeated so I picked it up again. This time I just opened it where it would fall and read one paragraph. Made as much sense as it did to read the whole chapter.
There was one line worth repeating and it was a quote from someone other than the author. Kafka said "If the book we are reading does not wake us, as with a fist hammering on our skull, why then do we read it?"
I knew a big stick could not wake me with this book so I have put it aside and marked it off as a folly. Isn't it funny as the older we become we do not feel we have to do or finish reading something if it does not enhance our life.
The Kitty Justice is that we do not come to this conclusion when young but have to learn it with age. WOW LESSON LEARNED!!!!!!!

NOT THIS OAK NOR THIS GREEN
A few years back, this giant oak was hit by lighting. So we got a really good professional tree company "Poteet" to cut it down.
I did not get a picture of our labor or the tree limbs that Prince & I worked on yesterday in the 95 degree heat but it could be a twin to the one that is pictured above. Yes it is a very big tree.
A few days ago one of the limbs at the very top came tumbling down. This massive limb hit a lower limb and then crushed my little maple tree which I had dug up out of the woods lot and planted when it was a mere twig.
Maybe the maple was not meant to be because when I first planted it the man who mowed, cut it down to the ground. It was a good 15 feet when the limb took out one side. The maple had just begun to touch the bottom limb on the massive oak.
Prince and I surveyed the damage when the limb from almost the top came tumbling down and I told him we might need to trim back the lower limb. The very next morning on his way to work, he called and told me we did not have to worry about cutting the limb as it had fallen also. Another blow to the tiny maple.
Those huge limbs were unsightly and Prince was determined to complete the job. Several times when we took a water break I tried to get him to be like Scarlet and "think about it tomorrow" but he was not gonna hear it. So we trudges on in the heat. Neither he nor I had on any dry clothes. Occasionally we would take out a handkerchief and wipe our brow.
Maggie thought it was grand and kept playing with sticks and sniffing new places. Only twice did she wonder off and each time she returned with her tongue hanging closer to the ground.
We manage to get one load that did not need splitting and around 17 logs that did need splitting. That will be done another day and one that I hope is much cooler.
As I walked back up the driveway with cooler in hand, I looked up at the MASSIVE OAK and threaten to cut her completely down if she threw another limb down for us to deal with.
The Kitty Justice will be if the massive oak heard me or not.
Prince had the nerve to say to me as we fell asleep "We had FUN TODAY". That woke me up completely and I told him "I do not want to have that kind of fun next weekend". NUF SAID
