Today's Sun Rise

Today started out beautifully. My four legged alarm clock awoke me at five this morning. No sleeping in on the hill.
Last week I went to Loveless Cafe and had lunch with the Art Ventures Group. We had family style where they bring platters and bowls of food to be passed around. There was fried chicken, grilled pork chops with apricot sauce, fried green tomatoes, potato casserole, and turnip greens (with sugar and lots of red pepper) also three kinds of jam with as many biscuits that you can consume.
Afterwards, I had six of the ladies to come and have coffee on the hill. We had a wonderful visit and we might even get a group up to come paint from the top porch one fall day. That would be grand fun.
Before I had my back episode, I got really disgusted with where my website is located. It was parked for months, free might I add. I had had a web site but I could not control it so I was talked into their website builder. I had worked several hours at different times to get the test site in order. When I tried to replace the one there with the website builder, well it would not work. I even had a tech, tell me to take down the old site and then launch the builder site. Which I did. The whole site was GONE. Then I was told to put a sub domain on the site. I kindly asked what that was and was promptly told to "Go Read About It" which I did and it still sounded like a foreign language to me.
I checked out last week and yes, I was still parked. I felt I had spent my money for NOTHING. Those who know how frugal I am know very well how this BUGGED ME.
Therefore, all by myself, I tried again last week. Nothing happen. I refused to call them and  be treated like an IDIOT so I asked support to send me a detail E mail to go step by step.
The E mail I got said it takes 48 hours to update and my site was up. WHAT?
I checked this morning and is up and running. Needs a little love and twitting but I am just happy she is up for viewing.
The Kitty Justice is to keep trying. Now where have we heard that before? BTW Those who know me can see more photos of the sun rise on Facebook.

Been Busy

I have been counting Moon Flowers. Almost forty, since the first one appeared on the first of the month.
I have been watching the birds especially the Hummers.
I have been watching the sun rises and getting out and about in the normal every day world. I even enjoyed my first visit the grocery store as it was a major outing. I have always hated grocery shopping but now after becoming mobile again, well it was a treat.
I have done some much needed sewing but not a whole outfit such as  the one I made for Puppy many moons ago.
I have started painting at least one day a week but this is not the one I just finished. You will have to wait for it to be displayed later.
I have even done some crocheting on a scarf. All the photos on display are old, I just wanted to let yawl know I am enjoying the freedom of less pain.
Since the medical world will only let you have 3 spinal injections in a six month period, I have postponed the final one because I just might need it worse than I do now. If I took it I would have to wait until  February and I might need it during the coming holidays so I can stay upright.
My Grandma's OCD has kicked in a few times and I have had classic "Bassie" days. I have rearranged the kitchen so everything I use daily is within reaching distance. Not to low, not to high, just right. Of course, Puppy did all the heavy lifting and bending.
I have worked on a very exciting Christmas present, I hope to finish for the family. If not this year I will give the gift in 2014.
I have done the dining room up for the coming two holidays and moved photos around to give the rooms a different look.
We have had the pleasure of dining out at friends homes for the last two weekends. Last night a party was held by Mrs. Jackson to introduce the new neighbors who bought her long time neighbors home. Mrs Earle was a different person and bless her heart she has gone to that great garden in the sky. I have some of her flowers that she shared with me before her exit. We got to meet her daughter and she has the same pretty blue eyes as Mrs. Earle.
The Kitty Justice is I might not be on the computer as often the rest of the year but I will pop in when you least expect the kat. Kat will be Katz.

New Horizon Luncheon

The lovely lady on the left is my friend, Beverly. We met when she was a guest speaker for our Garden Club. We had lots in common so we fast became friends. She is the same age as Mimi but she is still very active at the Nashville Woman's Club. I was unable to sit with her as she was on the first table because she gave the devotional. Yes at each meeting we have a devotional and we say the Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag (the grand old Stars and Stripes. We do put our hands over our heart to honor the flag. These ladies know how to act.
The speaker, Tamera Alexander,  was the author of many historical novels. These two are about Nashville's Belmont and Belle Meade. Since Mimi did not have any new books to read, I gave them to her to read first.
The Kitty Justice is Mimi is enjoying her visit to Belmont.
When she makes reference to where she is, she states "I am still at Belmont." Cute, huh.

September morning sky

I took this photo last Thursday morning the fifth. The sun rise was amazing.
I ran across the following that I had saved over thirty years ago and it still holds true.
Lord, I Am Growing Older

Lord, Thou Knowest I am growing older.

Keep me from becoming talkative and possessed with the idea that I must express myself on EVERY subject. Release me from the craving to straighten out everyone's affairs. Keep me from the recital of endless detail. Give me wings to get to the point.

Seal my lips when I am inclined to tell of my aches and pains. They are increasing with the years and my love to speak of them grows sweeter as time goes by.

Teach me the glorious lesson that occasionally I may be WRONG. Make me
THOUGHTFUL  and not NOSY, HELPFUL but not BOSSY. With my vast store of wisdom and experience it does seem a pity not to use it all.

The Kitty Justice is I have enough straighten of my own so that temptation does not hinder this kat.

Puppy made Salsa yesterday with my guidance. His efforts made 7 and half pints . The half pint was left open so we could try his salsa. We pulled out the chips and were eager to dip some out to taste. I was very cautious with my chip because he had used all hot peppers. The recipe calls for 2 cups of chopped bell peppers and 3/4 cup of chopped hot peppers. Last year we followed the recipe and made sure we took the seeds out of the hot peppers to soften the blow to our tummies. This year Puppy left the seeds in the hot peppers. Now I was happy to have been cautious as it had really good heat. Puppy said it was PERFECT.
The Kitty Justice is to have a big glass of milk when you dip your chips in the salsa. HOT HOT HOT

Pick a Peck of Peppers

Puppy found a few peppers on the vines this week. I used two last night to make some HOT sausage balls. He has been making Jalapeno Poppers and instead of wheat flour he uses brown rice flower so I can enjoy the fruit of his labors. When he makes the Poppers he makes enough to share with his buddies.
The Kitty Justice is your eyes will burn when he is in the kitchen cooking the peppers. Please bring a Kleenex.

First Moonflower

On September 1st the first Moon Flower graced our back porch. Mimi even ventured outside to see our treasure. Since then we have had three more. Only one per night but I think tonight we may have more than one. I planted 2 pots this  year and the one near the stair rail is doing much better than the one that gets full sun until late evening. Unfortunately, the one that I planted so Mimi could watch the progress is the one not doing as well.
The Kitty Justice is to plant where it will get the morning and mid day sun but not the heat of the afternoon sun.
