Lynnville revisited

During the holidays, Prince wanted to go back to Lynnville to visit Colonel Littleton's leather shops and have another great hamburger at the soda shop. Puppy went with us so it was like a family day off the Hill. We parked the car and went over to the leather shop and a big sign on the door said closed Monday. Prince had checked out their website and no mention of closing Monday. Being rather disappointed, I said let go over to the train museum and read all the material that I missed (see posts dated August 24 and 29 of 2014) because it was too hot to do so before. Another disappointment the museum was closed.
Puppy spied a gun shop so we thought we would try again. We had to cross the railroad tracks and the street but it was open. In the back of the shop were purses and other hunting gear and on the side of the shop was a stitching shop. The lady said she made the bookmarks and Christmas ornaments on her sewing machine and she tried to do an item out of different yarn to show how it would work up. She indicated the scarf was not an easy one to do and I knew with her experience and she considered it hard, well it would be hard for me to do. The best news was all items were 40 per cent off. The little shop was adorable and most items were locally made which I am a sucker for . I check most everything now to see if it is 'made in USA" The purse was also 40 per cent off and it has a large inside with 3 separate compartment and on the back is a zip compartment  for Lady Smith. When you move the purse, it sounds like a horse has entered the building.
Afterwards, we enjoyed a great hamburger at the soda shop. We also bought a sack of fried pies to bring home to the family. Next time we will get all Peach and Cherry. Yum.
The Kitty Justice is we will have to go back when the sidewalk has not been rolled up.

Month one almost gone

Yesterday we had changing skies all day. It started out with a whisper of light red over in the East.
Then the large clouds rolled in followed with blue sky and on and on it went most of the day. However, the sun was only a mild sliver at moments.

First I was given two BP medicines several years ago and both were off label. Nothing wrong with the BP. The first one was given to me 3 doctors ago for my heart rate. My art teacher of years gone pass, said I was a fast woman (meaning my painting) but it could also be my heart rate. Then 2 doctors ago I was given one to help with my kidneys since I had developed diabetes and also my Mother died of kidney failure. The long and short, I was getting horrible tired by the afternoon and if I rested a few moments then I could go on about my day. Back in July 2014 I told my now doctor and he cut the first medicine in half and now he has told me to discontinue it all together as my BP is running too low. That was 4 days ago and when I went for the mail today, I had electrical pains in my chest and I could feel my heart beat as if I had been running it was beating so hard, then when I got back to the house and rested awhile I took my BP and the heart rate was 130. YIKES.
Being I know my body best as I do have to live in it, I plan to go back on half of what he discontinued and see how that works. I am suppose to call him the first of February so he can tell me if Dr. M did a blood count or not and he, Dr. K, wanted one. I really hope Dr. M did the count because my veins have this habit of running for deep cover when a needle shows up near them. I always get a nice ugly mark that I have to live with for weeks until it disappears.  Nuf said as we all have health issues.
I have spent my time watching the Vanderbilt rape case. The defense tried to say it was culture and alcohols fault.WHAT? Two of the men involved were found guilty on all counts and 2 more await their day in court. No one won but it sent a message that if you commit the crime you will be punished. The poor girl had to wait 2 years for the trial. Then there is another trial to come. Two young men will spend 20 or more years in jail sentencing will be the first of March and each one could have had a bright future. The young lady life will never ever be the same. I cannot even imagine what her emotional life will be like.  One young man she had dated some and the girl Trusted him when she left with him. Unfortunately the young man had NO RESPECT for her or women in general proven by his actions. The same can be said of the other three men who were involved. One man got on the stand and admitted it was him on the video(thank goodness it was not shown to the public). He also stated he went to Church the next day and when asked what he was afraid of when he first told his story , he said it was that he would loose his scholarship. Now if all yawl do not think there is something wrong with this picture then I suggest you need to rethink why not. While waiting for the verdict this same young man was having lunch with his lawyer and thought he would not be convicted. I did not make a typing mistake. WHATEVER HAPPEN TO BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS?
If this is college culture and alcohol use on campus for colleges. it needs to change  as this is not what college is about.
The Kitty Justice is that All colleges should have to use the Vanderbilt rape case as a teaching tool to future classes.
BTW This is the only court case I have watched and I do not think I will watch another. Too upsetting.

Cedar Wax Wings

They arrived Sunday the 11th of this month . Underneath they have a yellow color so when you look up in the big trees from which we call staging areas, it looks like a yellow bouquet. Some times they arrive before Christmas and eat all the berries before we can use the Holly to decorate with for Christmas and then again they have been as late as just before spring. I thought they had gone yesterday but alas they had gone out front to relieve that large Holly of it's berries. They were still here this morning when I took Maggie out for her routine business.

A flock of 20 or 30 birds will leave the staging area and circle either right or left and then fly into the top of a Holly tree.  It is fun to watch as they eat a few berries from the top and then drop down to the middle and again eating only a few berries. After eating a few berries at the bottom they fly off to the staging area and a different  20 or 30 birds will follow the same routine. It is a true feeding frenzy and so sporadic in movement it is hard to get a photo. Any loose berry will be knocked to the ground or our porch. We wait until they have exited our part of the world before we clean off the porch.
Their black mask remind me of the Lone Ranger (oops dated myself) or just a regular ole Bandit.. They are very skittest so I took all the photos from inside the house.

Prince likes to call them racer because of the yellow racing stripe across their tails. Plus I guess the red on the wings could be sponsorship sticker. We have four large Holly trees in the back and one large one in the front.
They will leave our trees bare of berries and race often to the next picnic area.
The Kitty Justice is they should be named Bandit Racer and not Cedar Wax Wings. I do not see any cedar or wax on their pretty wings.

The Sign

Do yawl remember how I complained that all the adults had gathered in the kitchen on Thanksgiving?
As I was fixing Christmas Eve dinner, Prince asked me where my crime scene tape was located. I told him I had not bought any so he said he had a perfect sign for my kitchen.
I got the snacks and wine ready in the bar area and then at the kitchen entrance, Prince put up this sign.
My SIL came rushing around the corner and stopped very quickly and her eyes got extremely wide. As if to say, I cannot believe this. But she did not enter.
Her daughter put something in the trash and said "It is only my arm."
Needless to say fixin Christmas dinner was very pleasant to this lady of the house.
The Kitty Justice is that Prince has placed the sign where he can locate it for the next big dinner I make. LOVE THAT MAN.

So far

Photo was taken on the sixth of this month. Today is rainy and cloudy day but it is not below freezing. Something to be thankful for today.

So far, this year we lost a very dear friend, Mr. Jim, on the fourth. He was another one of those bigger than life personalities with a million dollar grin to go with it. He was only seventy two (looks younger the closer I get) but he had lived a full lifetime in those short years. One day as he and I sat outside the cabin at the lake, he told me he would never spend money on jewelry to put on his hand because that money could be used for a trip to make memories. We got to travel with him and his wife to Alaska and Hawaii and those were very memorable trips for us. Thank you Mr. Jim for the wonderful memories.

On the seven during the very cold weather the heat pump on the bedroom end on the house, gave up its coils. Actually the cheap wiring used and a heat pump not large enough to heat the area were the main culprit and put in by a company my MIL had used for years but she had dealt with the father mainly and not the son. Needless to say he nor his company are a household name around here anymore. . Donelson Air to the rescue. We now have the proper wiring and a larger heat pump and we are comfortably warm. They have some tweeting to do when the outside temps are above freezing but I am sure it will not be long. Thankful that we could put in a heat pump and it was done quickly and efficiently.

Right after that, we learn our wonderful neighbors have put their home on the market. They have lived there fourteen years and it makes us all sick at heart to know they will not be sharing this hill with us. If you ever look in the dictionary under GOOD NEIGHBORS, you will find their photos. Maybe the Good Lord will smile on them so they can keep the home. We are thankful for the time we have had with them.

Next little brother called and wished me a Happy Birthday on Elvis's birthday. Thank you very much but one dozen is not here yet. That is how Prince remembers my birthday "one dozen"(1-12). It was nice to hear from little brother since we had not been in contact for several months. I said the wrong thing and it took him a while to get over it. Actually, it was the truth and it is true TRUTH HURTS. I am thankful we can now continue a relationship with one another.

Now I know Medicare is mandatory but why in the H-E-L-L do you have to receive so much MAIL from everyone to sign up with them or order items that you are not ready for and hopefully never will be. If everyone has received as much mail as I THEN I KNOW   why the forest is being depleted. I think all these so called companies plus the government should have to plant at least one tree for every sheet of mail sent because some of the envelopes had books inside. .

THE KITTY JUSTICE IS I KNOW VERY WELL THAT I WILL BE TURNING 65 AND I DO NOT NEED SO MANY DAMN REMINDER. I am thankful for each day but wish others would get on with theirs and leave me alone.
