2016 Good Bye Bye Bye Bye

The Pope and Puppy when she was here this year. We had a wonderful visit with her and her Mother but as usual the day went too fast.
Mimi getting ready to unwrap the first round of presents. The living room blows up with wrapping paper, bags and bows three times each Christmas. This photo was during The Pope's visit.
Yesterday Puppy and Prince helped me pack the decorations away and take down the tree. I try to always set out the tatting Christmas tree that my good ole friend, JOT grandmother,Katheen Reese made. Kathleen died in 2003 just a few weeks before she would have turned 102.The tree is another of my treasures.
Maggie could not wait to unload her stocking. She got a giant hedgehog and a three foot fox. It is funny because the fox appears in different rooms everyday. Cricket's back and head were visible and she was wondering where her toys were. Her Mom came in and gave her a little bear and she was happy. Then she got a little star wars creature from Maggie.
We had clouds for a few days and then the sun appeared. Today is Friday the 30th and we awoke to below freezing temperatures but lots of sun and a sky so clear you wonder where the clouds have gone.
The Kitty Justice is that it appears to be warmer than it is as you look out at the golden sunshine but step out side and the tears will be blown from your eyes.

Christmas Eve

I crossed stitch this a long time ago but the saying and song are one of my favorites. This is the only thing I put on the mantle this year.
The Kitty Justice is this goes along with my Blue Tree that honors our Policemen.

Who cares about Santa, The Pope is here.

When we were young and carefree we did not have very many photos of us together. Therefore. each Christmas we make a point to have one made of The Best Friends.

This one was taken of us last year and of course my wonderful lab, Maggie likes to get into the act. She is so jealous of anyone who gets close to me.

The Kitty Justice as you read this I am having " Fun of the Season" with my Best Friend.

Beside the Table with the Small Tree in the Hall

This little Angel I got several years ago at our Art Ventures Dirty Santa Game and I am so proud that I have it. It was done by artist Mary Anne Batey and she is now an Angel herself. My goal in the game is to get a painting from all the members because when they are gone, either forever or just move away the chance of getting a great painting is very few and far between. Especially when they start using their paintbrushes in the sky. The painting is hung above the Santa and tiny tree shown below.
This tiny tree was Gran Dots and every year she brought it out to sit by her front door.
The Kitty Justice is it is so very, very nice to have items that bring pleasant memories of those we have loved on earth.

Sam Cats Tree

This little tree sits in the front hall under a table and it is the first thing you see when you come in the front door. For some reason Mimi's old Siamese Cat, Sam thinks it is his. Every night as he follows Mimi down the hall to go to bed, he likes to stop and remove one package from the tree.
As you can tell I have brought out the Nut Crackers to guard the hall this year. This big one is the first one I ever bought and it was before Prince so that will tell you how old this wooden fellow happens to be.
The Kitty Justice is that Sam Cat ignores the guards and I do believe since Lilly claimed the big tree that is why he is protesting by removing the packages on the small tree.

It is Lilly's tree

Lilly keeps a watch on the tree because she feels it belongs to her. I decked the tree in blue this year to HONOR our Policemen. It has not been a good year for Policemen and I felt I needed to do a little something to show that those of us on The Hill care about the men in blue.

A close up of the little darling fur baby. Those balls on top of the Santa hats on the tree skirt have had a hard life as she continues to try an remove them. Each morning I have to put at least one ornament or blueberry candy cane back on the tree. The ornaments are not hurt but the wrapper on the candy canes shows lots of little teeth marks. As of yet the wrapper are intact with only those little teeth marks showing her efforts of play.
The Kitty Justice is I wonder what she is gonna do when packages and bags appear under the tree.
Also, the people who have acted so hateful and spoke of the police so badly, I just wonder when they need help, Who are they gonna call? The Kitty Justice is  I have never ever seen so much disrespect.

Who would believe it is the middle of the month.

I did not attempt Fruit cakes this year so maybe those who love to receive them with go into fruitcake withdrawals and next year I can whip up anything.Ha Ha
A promise of a snow shower or two should arrive on Saturday. I have watched the frost creep up the hill and it finally arrived on our roof top on December 10th. Four days later than last year. When frost arrives on the roof then and only then do I consider ole man Winter is on his way.
My most recent gift from Prince. Throughout the year he brings me little surprises and I love them best rather than him feeling he has to give me something because it is an occasion. Those little gifts are so special because I know he is thinking about me when he picks them out for me. Sometimes it is just my favorite snack "Cheetos". But his thoughtfulness is one of the MANY reason I love him.
We just had our 30th Anniversary. When you are having fun TIME FLIES.
I am awaiting the visit of The Pope (my best friend) This is last years photo opt where she is stretching her 4'10" frame while posing with my son, Puppy (Thus called because Prince's friends nickname him "The Dog" which was shorten from HOT DOG) It is rare for The Pope not to wear heels and yes she had them on when the photo was taken. When Puppy was small . he thought Santa Claus was a very short lady from Macon Ga because The Pope would arrive with a car full of stuff for him. Christmas is The Pope's favorite holiday and she starts shopping for others right after Christmas ends and sometimes before. Her home is decorated all year long. Getting to spend time with her is my true present from her. One year I threw this large Christmas bag over her head and told her she was my present. I am getting excited just thinking of her visit.
Today the Sun is out bright and it was 19 degrees this morning. However, we have had lots of days lately that the hill has been fogged in as this photo shows. It makes you feel you are a island in the sky.

I prefer wrapping presents to sticking them in a bag . I use real ribbon and it makes the packages look festive however, this year  I have done what is easiest for me and that was lots of bags. I will do a few packages for the family this year but very few.  Each morning I take a few minutes to wrap a few more gifts.

I just got Puppy's Christmas list and last week I got my nieces Christmas list. The Kitty Justice is I need my list before October and I cannot wait until they have kids of their own and those kids give them their list so late.. Not only Kitty Justice but Poetic Justice too.

Oh What A Month

Photos taken the first day of December. We have more sky now but there are a few straggler leaves in the tree tops. Prince has used most of his spare time trying to clear the roof tops and around the houses since it has been so dry. But alas the Angels cried and a few heavenly tears soaked into the ground. I truly wish they would shed more tears on our dear Smokies in East side of our dear state.
Physical Therapy has taken up most of my month and my upper back feels better and I do have a better range of motion but the pain in the lower back gets better then worse again and it seems to occur after PT. I was feeling almost human Friday and felt really good about the ordeal but then afterward the pain started building and today it is worse than it was a week ago. In my mind I hear Doctor Daniel Burris's words after my last back surgery. He said "I could send you to PT but I know I will see you back here as they get too aggressive" Also he said "If it hurts, don't do it." I think I need to adhere to his words.
Then Thanksgiving rolled in and the family with dogs arrived. I usually cook everything but not this year. The other ladies of the family added to our feast.
Prince was my right hand and back on Thanksgiving Day and my SIL was my prep chef for me to stir up the dressing the day before.
At this point I am at nt saturation point with FOOTBALL and truly I look forward to the LAST game. The season is far toooooooo  long for my liking and should be over and done with by December and not head into the new year. But then again I think all sports are too long and should never overlap one another. Just the Kitty Justice in me.
I have been unable to travel the distance to see my sister and I really need a SISTER FIX.
Maybe one day when Prince is off he will drive me up to see her. Of course he still has lots and lots of leaves to get down the hill and alas we have a desperate need to cut fire wood.
As for me I take it one day at a time. My MIL will get her wish this year and I will not put out as much Christmas decorations. If I put it out,  yours truly has to put it away all by myself. I have put a few dribbles out so far but if it was gas it could not run a piss ant's motorcycle around a bee bee.  I will continue to take one or two things out daily but they will just have to rest in a stack afterward in order for me to take my time putting them away.
I have been preparing to do my Christmas tree in blue lights and blue ornaments to honor our Policemen. No,  I do not know any personally but have great respect for them and what they had been put through the last year.  Once up I will post a photo.
On another subject, Prince just sighted a flock of Cedar Waxwings, therefore the holly berries will become history in a weeks time. They must send out a scout to check the trees for berries. Next time I must trap him and hold him prisoner until I have enjoyed the color of the berries.
Also on another left field note, I hate to turn on the TV these days because of the sore loser of the election. Get over it and pick a better candidate next time. If I could pick a song that everyone had to listen to daily it would be Tim McGraw's " Humble and Kind". If we could all practiced what that song says we would be a better America.
The Kitty Justice is to enjoy every pain free moment you can as you do not know if it is your last. Spoken with profound knowledge.
