Art Venture Luncheon in April at the Calpyso Cafe.
Mz PB&J and Sister were the hostess for April's Art Venture luncheon. They reserved the patio of the Calpyso Cafe in Belle Meade. It was a beautiful day however a little windy. We had a nice young man as a waiter and he would come out with four plates on his right arm and one in his left hand.
The Calpyso is right across Leake Avenue from the Belle Meade Plantation. If you ever come to Nashville then you must put it on your list of things to do. I thought since it is Kentucky Derby weekend that the Barn at the Plantation should be displayed. In the beginning, Belle Meade was known for its horses and the barn was one and probably still is one of the largest in Nashville.
There is a restaurant upstairs at the gift shop that has white linen tablecloths and downstairs are all the regular gift items plus some rather unusual ones too. On the left side in the back is an art display and that was where Bunny had hers that I wrote about before. Several of the art group went over and explored the art gallery and the gift shop. I walked up the parking lot to the very end to take the picture of the barn.
Our rain gauge this morning had two inches in it and all that came down last night within a few hours. Ah, more water for the pond. However, we will have to let the grass dry some before we can cut it and it needs it again badly.
Puppy is out of college and as any Mother who has had a child in college, the house has several piles that need to be put away neatly. His roommate lives in North Carolina, so Puppy brought his little frig home to store. I was happy we could help Tad and was happy that Puppy offered to do this for him.
So far, Mimi did really good again with her leg surgery. We get to take all the bandages off Monday evening. Then the stocking goes on for a week. Next week we will go back for an ultra sound to make sure everything is really okay. I can only hope when I get to be 89, I will be as good a trooper as she. If she complains, I know something is really wrong. Mother was even worse than Mimi but Dad well he complained about everything. It would have been nice if a LITTLE bit of Dad could have rubbed off on Mimi.
The Kitty Justice is that I miss both of them, Mom's never complaining and Dad's constant complaining. I guess we kids would have been in a pickle if they both had been like Dad.

She does not complain so I hope she is doing well as she is still driving that wheelie walker like Dale Earnhart up and down the halls. Before surgery, I noticed she was dragging that left leg more. All she will say is "I can't get it to do what I want it too do."I will tell her you are thinking of her. love and prayers
You ladies all look like you were having a wonderful time
It looks like you had a great time at the luncheon. I enjoyed seeing the photos and reading about your day.
The photo of the farm pond is wonderful. We got a lot of rain here Friday and Saturday. It poured for over 48 hours. Today was sunny but cool. There was a strong breeze and dampness lingered in the air.
Tell Mimi I'm continuing to pray for her healing. Take care and have a great week.
Blessings,
Mary
I thank you most sincerely for your very kind word about my blog and me.
I also am thankful to have found a friend like you. Take great care,
Much love, Merle.
Come on down. I should have taken a page out of your book and listed a site to read about Belle Meade. Here it is now, www.bellemeadeplantation.com
Enjoy the history lesson.
Peace
Yes, we ladies had a fun time. We get together once a month and try to pick different places to eat and then we find out what each has been doing and if any have a show to attend. Lots of fun had by all.
Thanks for dropping by.
Peace
I am glad I entertained you with my days with the Art Venture Group. Mimi leg and foot was swollen yesterday so she did not manuver around too much. I did use my common sense and took the stocking off and rewrapped the bandage so it would not be too tight and it is better today. Today the bandages come off. Thank you for keeping her in your prayers and I will let the Larson's know of your prayers.
Peace
Last year the pond all but went dry during the drought. Mimi nor Prince could ever remember it getting that low. So we are proud of every inch of rain we get to fill pond back up. I guess we were blessed that we did not have any live stock to water last year. I still miss driving around and seeing the cows and caves. I was always leary of the bull.
Peace be with you.
We had a couple windy days here too. The weather is turning so beautiful this week. Glad to hear Puppy is home for the summer, I know you will have lots of fun before it is time for him to head back. It was very thoughtful of him to help out with the frig.
Thanks so much for being a dear friend through all my trials, Big (((HUGS))))
Thanks for the visit but I know how it is when you have a PLATE full. It was very kind of you to drop by.
Peace
