Bellingrath Gardens

 Walking paths at the Garden. This is a sixty five acre estate which was first a fishing camp bought by Walter Bellingrath at the advise of his doctor who told him to "LEARN HOW TO PLAY.'

Today countless number of tourist get to enjoy his prescription. Walter's wife Bessie had a love of flowers and antiques. After the rustic cabins with no running water or electricity were renovated, Bessie decided to improve the place by bringing down a few azaleas. Unfortunate for us these had already bloomed. 

 In 1927 the Bellingraths went on a European tour and when they returned they decided to turn the camp into a country estate. Thus the gardens for today's enjoyment begun. 

This is the rose garden which was named 2004 Top Public Rose Garden in the United States. 

I thought I would include a photo of the red bridge which was located in the Japanese area of the grounds. 
The Kitty Justice is we will have to go back for a proper tour since we only spent 30-45 minutes here.
