Christ Church Cathedral

These photos were taken several years ago (about 15). I had gone downtown to a tire store to have some tires put on the Silver Bullet. It was gonna take awhile so instead of waiting, I walked the downtown streets and played tourist.  I really had forgotten about them. 
I stumbled upon them yesterday as I was consolidating some items in my closet. Not a fun job, but as the old saying goes "Someone has to do it ". With my darling pack rat family which is a good thing if you like history but other things just get in the way. I made a collage out of several photos and in the upper left corner shows the Frist Museum and the Union Station. Also a street lamp in the lower left corner that I found interesting. 
Here is a little history about the Episcopal Christ Church Cathedral. It was founded in 1829 and the main building by architect, Francis Kimball was completed in 1894. The tower was completed in 1947 and the architect was Russell E. Hart. It is located at 900 Broadway and became the Diocesan Cathedral by designation in 1997. The facade faces South in this sandstone Gothic revival style Church.  Great Uncle Owen and his wife Great Aunt Byrd were members and they later help start St. Georges Episcopal Church. I will try and get a photo of the plaque sometime honoring Aunt Byrd. I have only been in the Church one time and I must admit I was too busy looking around to remember the service. They have a tour weekly and that has been on my bucket list awhile. 
The Kitty Justice is as soon as I can tie my walking shoes I may wonder downtown.
