This is a grand event here on the west side of town and money raised goes to the Vanderbilt Children Hospital.
Whenever it rains on the chase, on our way to seven thirty church on Sunday, it is fun to see the hundred thousand dollar rides stuck in the mud. But it is better they leave them rather than drive because most have enjoyed the beverages too much.
We will avoid that area of highway 100 and Old Hickory Blvd because of the traffic.
This morning as it was raining Mimi said "Those poor people at the steeplechase." I laughed and told her "There are no POOR people at the chase."
The kitty justice will be lots of fun for those with coins to spare. But the biggest Kitty Justice is that No Horse gets hurt. I know that is a chance they take but whenever one of those beautiful horses has to be put down, I cry.

We had Race horses and years ago I saw a horse shot on the track. I is still fresh in my mind. Have a great Mothers Day.

Totally banned is wishful thinking as it has been around for too long. Yes horses are majestic. BTW the sun came out and it was a very nice day on Saturday. Peace

When you say Horse Person that is a unique breed of people. Thanks for the wishes and I hope your day was great too. I have never seen a horse put down in person but I am sure it would haunt me since I am so upset when I view it in the media. Peace

I have never been either but if it could be done without injuries, I would think seeing those accomplishments by magnificent horses would be a heart stopping moment. I guess that is why they do it. Peace
You know I love horses. I have never seen a steeple chase except in a movie. Too hard on both horses and Jockeys. Boo!!
