Ferns

I am very happy with the way my ferns look now. I had thought to throw some of them away when I brought them out of the basement this spring. Especially the top three. They looked beyond help but I brewed a strong pot of tea for each one and alas they all look great now. I must admit I had my doubts at first. The asparagus fern was one that Grand Dot had on the Hill when she lived in the little log cabin. I put it in the basket years ago and it seems to be rather happy in it's new residents. I love the looks of ferns as they are so very graceful and dance like little green fans in the wind. Even when wet they still appeal to me as the water has so many places to bead and reflect the world.
The Kitty Justice is what flower or plant is graceful in your eyes?

I'm glad to see that someone else uses the old tea trick when it comes to ferns. I first learned about that when I was a kid. Nana and Mum used to always throw the tea dregs onto our maiden hair ferns.

Now that I think of it...if the maiden hair ferns start to die off...you set fire to them...and new growth soon spurts forth.
The fern wins hands down and the asparagus fern does well here in the heat but a real fern doesn't. Not enough humidity, yours are beautiful!
I like Ferns too. Our woods are full of them but I like the grace of a Maidenhair fern whether it is a house plant to growing in the wild.
Also I like the free flowing of my Sango Kaku Japanese Maple also known as a coral Bark Japanese Maple. So many good qualities to it besides beauty.
PS: thanks for not forgetting me

Wow, you knew that trick before I. Peace

From the news on our weather channel your area at the moment is too hot for any plant life. Our dry heat in winter makes the ferns weather the winter better in our basement under the grow light. Peace

I guess you have lots of Fairies out in your woods living under those ferns. I love ferns and really have never met one I did not like. Your tree sounds divine. You can not be forgotten as I look forward to your side of our country through your words and photos. Peace
