RECTOR'S CHOICE
Father Spruill list his monthly choice of reading in the gone "monthly newsletter". They have updated to a web page. Anyway, in a moment of weakness I chose to buy and read this book. BAD CHOICE.
First of all the money would have been better spent by giving it to the homeless shelter. Secondly, I tried to trudge through the first chapter and it was very laborious. It was neither entertaining or informative. I would have gotten more from it if I had literally ate it like the title suggested.
I made it through the first chapter and started on the second. Yikes, more of the same. Opinions like bottoms we all have one and his is BIG TIME DULL.
I thought I will not be defeated so I picked it up again. This time I just opened it where it would fall and read one paragraph. Made as much sense as it did to read the whole chapter.
There was one line worth repeating and it was a quote from someone other than the author. Kafka said "If the book we are reading does not wake us, as with a fist hammering on our skull, why then do we read it?"
I knew a big stick could not wake me with this book so I have put it aside and marked it off as a folly. Isn't it funny as the older we become we do not feel we have to do or finish reading something if it does not enhance our life.
The Kitty Justice is that we do not come to this conclusion when young but have to learn it with age. WOW LESSON LEARNED!!!!!!!

I do not know how to delete the comment.. Sorry about the error.
All the best, Merle.
Maybe I should make the Rector eat it since he suggested it.

Don't worry I have been called lots worse and they never apologized. I do not know how to delete comments either. I will see if I can figure it out.
I think it was the waste of time and money that made the book worse. If I pay $20 for a book and it is great then I do not regret it however to pay $20 and hate it I feel giped.
thank both and have a good day. I like to go to Jeanette blog and hear the song.
