PA CHRISTIAN, MOTHER AND GRANDMA CHRISTIAN AT CHRISTMAS.
GRANDMA HOLDING ONE OF HER FAVORITE DOLLS, PA AND LITTLE BROTHER IN ONE OF THOSE FAMOUS BUSTER BROWN OUTFITS.
UNCLE ROY (THE ONLY SON) PA WHO HAD JUST TOLD A FUNNY STORY AND WAS TRYING TO GET A HOLD ON HIS LAUGHTER AND GRANDMA WHO DID NOT THINK IT WAS FUNNY.
Back in time, Christmas were always my favorite as Pa would always show up with fruit, a bag of oranges, apples and bananas. He also had new stories about how he helped Santa Claus each year. I was well over the age of believing in Santa but still wanted to be front row and center for the early morning stories.
Mother was the oldest child of four. I always liked to kid Grandma when I got older as each of the four children had different colored hair. Mothers was jet black like Pa's, Uncle Roy had brown hair, Aunt Dorothy had red hair and Aunt Carolyn had blond. She would puff up like a bannie hen and snort and puff that each one was Pa's. I knew that but to tease her was so much fun.
Mother worked in a shirt factory and I really do not remember her staying at home with us girls as far back as I can remember she always rode to work with someone to the factory. She sat at the sewing machines all during her pregnancy with little brother and when he was born his head was flat on one side and the doctor told her it was because of her sitting position at the sewing machine. She made a whopping 40 cents an hour and it was production work.
My sister and I thought little brother was really a big doll for us to play with and Mother's sister Aunt Carolyn lived in Nashville and she introduced her to Buster Brown outfits for little brother. Mother made sure he had one of each color. Little matching shorts and collared shirts.
We lived in a very rural area where most boys wore blue jeans and cotton shirts. Not our little doll of a brother. Many a times he had to fight his way off the school bus and and at school because of those buster brown outfits. He can still tell us horror stories of his earliest years of school. What can I say, it made his TUFF.
Uncle Roy is still with us but he is stuck in a wheel chair. He was closing up his Bar B Cue place one evening and the Grandson found the 22 pistol that they kept behind the counter and he accidentally shot Uncle Roy in the back. He almost died and Mother worried so much that he would not get better. He was the child who had responsibility of their one living parent, Grandma. He was able to take good care of her until Grandma died at age 93.

Beautiful photos of your loved ones. No, we don't know what is in store for us and that is probably a good thing. We would probably panic sometimes if we knew what the future had in store.
Thanks for sharing these beautiful family photos. I well remember those Buster Brown outfits.
( would have paniced if I knew what was in store. But such is life take the good with the bad...
Life is like opening a gift box, you never know what you are gonna find.
I try to see the best in all situations but sometimes it is hard.
Peace be with you both.
Yes, I just posted a little about my battle with depression over the years. Life is like a gift box. Some days I would rather I'd left that box closed. hehe. Dad used to tell us that life wasn't a bed of roses and he was right.
Thanks so much for the nice comments you left on my blog. I enjoy our visits.
Blessings for a great week.
Mary
I was sorry to read about your neighbor.
And thanks for all the kind words on my blog.
I hope you have a good week too!
I am sorry to hear about your depression and yes it would be nice to leave the box closed sometimes other than find what might be luring inside.
Marcel
