This is the Clay County Courthouse in Celina, TN. It was after 5PM so everyone had gone home. Or as they say in the country, the sidewalks have been rolled up.
I wanted to capture the essence of the town by going around the square and taking photos of the buildings.
The population is a little over 1,300 and as usual there are more women than men in this little town.
Prince is waiting patiently by his truck as I make my way around the courthouse. The little brown building with the green tin roof is for sale. Make a good "Liar's joint."
I love the way the hills show in the photos. This is the closest town near Dale Hollow Lake where the record small mouth bass was caught.
I think it would be fun to return when the shops are open and go browsing to see what could be found.
On our way out of town, I took this from the truck as we crossed the bridge.
The kitty justice is you can google Dale Hollow Lake or Celina, Tn., if you wish to know more.
Thank you for this interesting post on Celina! I looked it up in Wikipedia and I have a better geographical understanding of the region now :) The countryside with the large lakes looks very interesting. Have a nice weekend! I'm glad you have a new coffee machine :) I do know how important this is!
Thanks Maria. I am happy you looked it up and you can also google Celina,TN and find their official website. The hills of TN make nice deep lakes a dam is put on the river. I am enjoying the coffee as I write. Peace
Hi Dianne ~~ I enjoyed the photos of the buildings you took in Celina. But do go back when the shops are open. btw How is your ankle now?
Thank you so much for your comments about my cousin Geoff. He was very bright and will be missed. Both he and his wife had a great attitude and knew what was in store. I don't drink tea either, very rarely when it is very cold I have a Milo or chocolate hot drink. I have porridge for breakfast and that warms me and gets me going. Take care, my friend, Love, Merle.
MB Maybe when the weather gets cooler, I will venture back to Celina. I think it would be fun as a girls day away. Peace
Merle I think I will go back but waiting for cooler weather. It is aways nice to be around those who have a good attitude. My MIL is one. However, my Mother and Gran Dot had the attitudes I wish I could copy. What amazing women they were. My oh my how do you get that caffine fix with porridge? News media just revealed some more good reasons to start your day with coffee, it helps prevent cancer of the brain and prostate. Peace
