Another Mess

Every Aunt has one Nephew that is closer to her than others. This is mine. When Prince and I started dating, Louie was in his single digits of age and we spent many hours reading books together etc.etc.He was like a mini adult in a child's body. He considered me a down to earth and trustworthy Aunt. (At least I hope so)

I displayed the above photo as he has on the dreaded color orange. Being an Alabama graduate, he will not even use an orange toothbrush.

When he was in college, he had an East Tennessee woodworking artist to carve him a 4 foot tall American Indian. He got it delivered to our house and he planned to pick it up the next time he was in town. When it was delivered I called Prince and he told me to call Louie and tell him it was painted orange.

In a very serious voice, I called him and asked if he had an Indian statue delivered to our house as I was not sure it was his. He was very happy to hear it had arrived and said Yes it was his. Then I dropped the bomb on him. I said I could not believe he would have the Indian painted orange. Pin drop on the other end of the line. He was concerned and asked was I sure it was orange and I continued the joke and said yes it is UT orange. He believed me as I had never pulled a joke on him before.

The kitty justice is I let him stew for awhile (I cannot remember how long, maybe a day but I am sure he remembers each dreadful moment he thought the statue was orange) and then I told him the truth.
