Lillies plus the back

One on my pink Lilies out front. I would love to have a huge bed of theses .
My purple clematis has grown pass the top porch and over the bottom railing. I spent last weekend when it was so very hot weeding these and at the end I was not doing a good job because I was so very HOT. You know the kind of hot that you have to peal your clothes off because with the sweat they are just clinging to you. I really hate to get that hot but with our current weather there is little time without rain and heat then more rain and heat. Thus I looked as if someone had shut me in a steam room and forgot to come back and get me. BUT I AM THANKFUL I CAN DO THE WEEDING NOW BECAUSE LAST YEAR I COULD NOT USE THE RIGHT ARM OR EITHER HAND DUE TO SWELLING AND NUMBNESS.
Another Lilly out front and it is blooming and blooming. . I love to look around each day to see if something else is blooming.
My sister did not get the green thumb gene. There is just something therapeutic to digging in the dirt and watch seeds grow into plants and plants you have added here and there, providing such wonderful color and serenity.  She also is fond of saying I like my cats better than most people and I can definitely see why.

Case in point, for the last couple of years for our luncheon I have done most of the work as the lady I host with works part time at a place. I have picked the location , made the phone calls to the place to verify they can handle our rowdy bunch and verify that we can pay separately rather than one big check. Also, I have sent E-mails, bought and wrapped the door prizes.  The only thing she had to do was communicate with me and provide the party favors. I picked up some really cute glass snails which were green and white and about 5 inch tall and about the same length. I took photos of them and sent the photo to her and she approved . I did the same thing last year but I had gotten sketch books. We had a very small turn number coming , therefore our last telephone conversation  I asked her about should we provide 2 door prizes or just one. Again she said she did not care either way and I could make the decision. Therefore ole General Herndon made the call that  one would be enough with such a small number.

I always let her approve of the place , and since I am a planner I really did not mind doing most of the work. The first thing she said to me when she arrived was  "I am picking the place next time" She said it not once but THREE TIMES. Each time I told her that would be fine with me.  The valet was LATE getting there so the parking was confusing at first. I was not told by the place that he did not start until 11;00 or I would have made the luncheon time 11;30.   He got there about 20 minutes late and I could not control that. I told the ladies that I was sorry that I did not know he would be late and did not start until eleven. What else could I do at that moment.

Next the place gave us one big bill, and I told them that was not what we agreed upon. So I was told it could be separated at the cashier. ONLY ONE cashier with a customer taking up to 20 minutes at the cashier time. The rumbling by the others was getting loud so I paid my part and got the valet to bring the silver bullet asap.

Tofday I was told by a mutual friend  that she did not like our door prize and she was embarrassed when she saw the snail. If I had done it without involving her she could have complained but I involved her with each step. She should have said she did not like the snail when she got the photos but NO she did not. So the Kitty Justice is next year SHE can pick the place the prizes etc or she can get someone else to host with her. I am like RB now "Frankly my dear I do not give a DAMN.

Very frustrating for sure.

All she had to do was be honest with me but instead she bite me on the butt when my back was turned. Oh well it is in the past so I can either forget about it or learn from it and I pick the latter. Peace
Bravo on you last comment---haha. I would say the same to her also.
Love your lilies. Our Clematis is almost out of hand but still glorious

Thanks and an out of hand Clematis. Never heard of such a vine unless it ate the house. Peace

Mr A
Must keep up my green thumb. I have an addition to plants and I have a villian pot who has killed my last 2 plants I have put in it. I Plan to use a clay pot to save the next plant and the bad pot will not get to keep it villianous ways. Peace
